Better late than never!
We are way past due for The IN SEASON Lifestyle Newsletter for May to June of 2019; but we are finally rolling it off the presses:
UPDATED NEWSLETTER TITLES
You might have been following our Newsletters for a long time now and possibly think they are a bit confusing since we have been titling them by the month that just slipped by instead of the month when they are finally published; but we are hoping you all realize that we are reviewing the past month and then previewing the next month with each publication of the Newsletter.
We’ve changed our title this month in order to at least be a bit more accurate for our favorite people – our readers on our mailing list; the sturdy, steady anchor that holds this IN SEASON Lifestyle Community together.
Hopefully; it will make more sense now; especially since we often wait until almost the middle of the month to publish instead of using the first of the month. This is necessary because of the crazy patterns of those mysterious algorithms out there on the internet. We want you to receive the Newsletter at a time that works best for the technology to deliver you a quality publication.
MAY TO JUNE
So; here we are already moving from May to June of 2019.
Can you believe it?
This will be the third June that we have shared in this little, but growing community of people who all are hoping to live and grow together as we follow God’s ways through our seasons of time on this earth.

How was your month of May?

WE ENJOYED DERBY DAY – (ANYWAY)
We started out in the first week of May by celebrating The Kentucky Derby.
Did you watch?
What a strange race this year; one winner was announced then a protest was filed and the winner was changed!
I’ve never seen this happen and it felt so strange and awkward.
The story isn’t over yet folks; and there will be more tales to tell about Derby 2019 when we review again before next year’s race.
Such is life in the age of technology. It has even reached the activities of The Kentucky Derby. So much for tradition – we are on to more modern technology than ever before.
Can’t we turn the clock back a bit and chill out?

These Mother’s Day celebrations just seem to grow bigger and better with each year that passes and our collection of articles keeps growing and growing. We hope you enjoy that we review the past as well as present new ideas every year. Sometimes we feel like Mother’s Day headquarters here!
Why wouldn’t this day be a big deal in our community though? Every year we have so many fine new Mothers to celebrate.
Just for fun we try to share ALL of our posts on this special occasion. It is our hope that you enjoyed this year’s activities and that this day was a huge blessing to you and your whole family.
COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY
The Come As A Child Bible Study continues and we’ve hit on a very intense and passionate section of the study.
In May we began to study the fifth chapter of the Book of Numbers. Little did we know what a key passage of scripture this would turn out to be.
We have continued to dwell on this one passage all the way through May and straight into June. There is a possibility we may move on past this subject in July – but first we must get all of the meat out of this particular place where we are.
So sit back and rest a bit and try to digest all of the good things we are learning about God’s ways and his church in May and June of this year. God doesn’t seem to be in a hurry; so why should we?

MEMORIAL DAY
May was slipping away; but we still had a Memorial Day celebration coming forth to honor our veterans.
It is our hope that you enjoyed all of the posts containing a few of the stories about all the wars that have passed on by, and most of all; the honorable men who fought them so that we could maintain our freedom. Really feeling the spirit of this traditional day; we even threw in some poetry from our PEN ART column in honor of every veteran everywhere.
We even suggested a great fig cake recipe to use in your celebration. Did you bake one for your favorite vets?

Our PEN ART column loves relevant book reviews. This month we featured information on how to find a book by Ruth Soukup called “DO IT SCARED.” The author is actually one of the first to inspire our original efforts toward this blog; so you know we loved hearing all the stories in her book!
We have only reviewed part of the book so far; but we are giving it a huge “thumbs-up” based on what we already know. It is hoped that we will have a full book review of “DO IT SCARED” coming up in June.
