We are approaching Martin Luther King Day.
I’m sure many people are out there shaking their heads and wondering; if he were alive today; what would his thoughts be?
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man. He contributed so very much to society. I was fortunate enough to have been alive and able to witness first-hand much of his mission. The evidence of his life has spilled over into my life in about a million daily ways.
Personally; I am sad for the honor of his memory because I think many of the people he fought so hard to help have digressed back into racism.
We were seeing so much progress!
Why would people let this happen?
Is it possible that the masses have been fed lies for so long that they do not even understand what Dr. King’s message truly represented?
I suspect this is true.
Let me link you to an article written by Alveda King, one who lived very close to this well-known hero that we honor today. She says it all so much better than I could. Here is the link to her recent article for Chrisma Magazine:
Today; in honor of Dr. King; I would like to challenge everyone the same way that Alveda King has challenged them. If you are a CRT believer; I dare you to take every page of history that records the words, works and dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and compare them side by side to the works of CRT.
You will quickly see that they are nothing the same.
If you truly seek the same social justice that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spent his life protecting; I challenge you to redefine your knowledge of what “racism” truly is.
One quote from Dr. King says all I need to say:
“If peace means a willingness to be exploited economically, dominated politically, humiliated and segregated, I don’t want peace. If peace means being complacently adjusted to a deadening status quo, I don’t want peace. If peace means keeping my mouth shut in the midst of injustice and evil, I don’t want it. Peace is not simply the absence of conflict, but the existence of justice for all people.”
For all of you who have been spoon-fed by liberal thinking college professors who were never really there; who only wanted to push their Marxist beliefs off on you and use you in their processes; I would offer another quote. It may seem such an unlikely combination to be quoting both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and Shel Silverstein in one article; but I truly think the two help each other’s messages come across in the way that each author intended:
“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
― Shel Silverstein
Listen is the key word here.
If you listen closely to the teachings of CRT; you might come to understand how cold and cruel the words can be.
CRT is telling you that certain people mustn’t be given equal rights with others. It is saying they don’t deserve it because of things that their ancestors might have done. CRT is saying you shouldn’t treat all races the same; that some are above others.
Now listen close to Dr. King’s words.
That is the total opposite of what he lived his life for.
Listen.
Learn.
Change.
Listen close to me……Anything can happen, child, anything can be.
The final “anything” is up to you and me.
