REVIEWING MAY OF 2021
For us here at The IN SEASON Lifestyle, May 2021 was one of the busiest months of the year. The late spring; early summer days were full of fun surprises and celebrations.
KENTUCKY DERBY
We started the month traditionally by enjoying The Kentucky Derby.
Did your favorite horse win?
Here is our article, which was more about preparation than the results of the race: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-most-exciting-two-minutes-in-sports/.
But isn’t that the way life usually goes?
It is the planning and the preparing that becomes half of the fun. Anticipation can build while creating which simply leads to more celebrating when the moments do finally arrive.
All two minutes of The Derby were great this year!
So glad to have everything back on track and normal again.
MOTHER’S DAY
May was chunked full of Mother’s Day articles. We love our Mother’s so much and we always have a great time celebrating that fact.
Here are some of our articles for your review; as well as a few photos of our own family celebration: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/mothers-day/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/cake-tree/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/mothers-day-gifts/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/getting-ready-for-mothers-day-2018/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/purple-and-yellow-mothers-day/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/young-motherhood/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/seasons-menu-mothers-day-luncheon/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/may-is-mothers-day-month-lets-help-mom/
How is that for a whole bookshelf worth of Mother’s Day articles?
Well; it is for a great cause and there is just so much to say.
We would all be totally lost without the precious love of our mothers.
PENTECOST
My favorite part of May 2021 was our family’s Pentecost celebration.
We had eagerly counted the 50 days and when Pentecost came we gathered, told the stories of Jesus and celebrated the fact that God’s Church has a Comforter who lives within us now; who will guide The Bride of Christ (His Church) through life until we are able to see the face of Jesus in His Second Coming.
Of course we told the story of that first such filling when the disciples were gathered in Jerusalem and God’s Spirit first appeared among us from within us.
This house put an unexpected twist on the storytelling; when I said “suddenly there was a sound like a mighty rushing wind – It was God’s Holy Spirit!” my husband let a tube of confetti explode all over the room and it had a loud banging noise as it happened. Everyone jumped out of their skin! It was funny, but the point was taken.
Did you catch our many Pentecost articles?
If not; here they are for you: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/arriving-at-pentecost/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/festivals-weeks-ingathering/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/pentecost-past-and-present/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/pentecost-in-the-park/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/counting-the-days-explained/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/pentecost-in-a-vineyard/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/waiting-on-pentecost/
Were those enough? There is never enough time to tell all of the stories that evolve around Pentecost! We are so thankful for a special day to remember God’s perfect blessing!
This was a major moment in the history of mankind. For me it will also be a major moment of vacuuming up all of the little bits of paper, probably for all of the rest of the year until Pentecost comes again. No problem; I will just sigh and remember the blessings of the day!
Our celebration of that day was so much fun.
COME AS A CHILD THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY
The COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY, which we blog every Thursday, continued through May of 2021. Here are the lessons we published: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/make-tassels-on-the-corners-of-your-garments/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/god-confirms-the-sanctity-of-human-life-and-marriage-to-his-people/
https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/when-mans-ways-and-gods-way-collide/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/marriages-that-were-forbidden-to-ancient-israel/ .
This bible study is available to anyone who wishes to participate. If you wish to receive the lessons by e-mail, just sign up on our blog pages and/or send your email contact information to wordcastlepublications@gmail.com. We will gladly add you to our once a week e-mail mailing list.
This bible study is walking through the bible together, page by page and word by word. We are now nearing the end of the book of Deuteronomy. If you join in with us it would be like slowly studying the whole bible over time. Gail Landgraf is also compiling our studies into books as we complete each book of the bible together. So far she has published THE GOSPEL HIDDEN IN GENESIS BOOK ONE AND THE GOSPEL HIDDEN IN GENESIS BOOK TWO.
These two books are a great summary of our study through Genesis; and she is now compiling a workbook to go with them for leading small group sessions. You may purchase these two books from Amazon.com. They are reasonably priced and also make great daily devotional study material if you simply read one chapter at a time.

MEMORIAL DAY
May 2021 ended in all of us taking aside the time and making the effort to remember all of those who gave their lives for us in defending our country.
We hope you enjoyed our Memorial Day articles. Here is a review if you missed them: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/soldiers/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/memorial-day-stories/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/remembering-the-ritchie-boys/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-vietnam-war-veterans-and-a-few-of-their-stories/.
This year we added an article about Vietnam to our already published articles about World War I and World War II. Next year we want to bring you some heroes of The Korean War. I hope you took the time to tell the stories of your family heroes, and to remember their great love for freedom.
PREVIEW FOR JUNE 2021 ARTICLES
Unlike the busy months of March, April and May, June comes to us with only one large family holiday. That would be Father’s Day.
FATHER’S DAY 2021
You know we are going to celebrate and honor our Father’s in a huge way.
Come join us inside our home and share the celebration with us; also let us know your thoughts as you plan to participate in your own family celebrations.
We can’t put enough emphasis on the fact that our Father’s are critically important, and we depend on them to lead us to a better family, a better lifestyle and a better nation.
The hope of our country’s future is hinged on what our Father’s do, and how they lead us through the completely new territories that we find ourselves living in today.
Be expecting some fun Father’s Day events, decorating, recipes and articles about being a Dad in 2021.
LAZY SUMMER DAYS AND EXTRAORDINARY ORDINARY MOMENTS
Because June is a month with only one major holiday, and no religious holy days; we can spend some time looking at ordinary days a bit.
Don’t you just love when that happens?
These days can be the most fun of all.
June will be full of suggestions for enjoying home and family for the summer.
We will review some major basics for worship also; such as keeping Sabbath and putting aside time to spend in prayer.
As we enjoy the lazy days of summer with lots of summer food ideas in MONDAY NIGHT MENUS, we will also concentrate on how God tells time, and what that means to us.
While we are resting more and playing more in June, we will also be planning more. It is time to start thinking about those plans we will need for the Fall Holy Days, especially how and where we will be spending The Feast of Tabernacles next fall.
June will also put an emphasis of fun places to visit with children, who are out of school for the summer. At our house we will be doing G-MA Camp. If you aren’t familiar with the concept; we will be happy to share our adventures.
There will be many more surprises in our June articles; so keep watching. We love to hear from each of our readers and your comments and suggestions are warmly welcomed.
