REVIEW OF A FULL JANUARY
PIECES OF THE PUZZLE TOPICS
You know I expected January to be a light writing month. December was so crammed with articles and posts; that I thought the juices would run out in January, and I would just catch my breath a bit.
It seems that God had other plans.
Ideas for new January posts just kept pouring out of the sky and I’ve been struggling to get this newsletter done; because we still need to finish the series of ten articles that came forth on the subject of “social justice.” All of this happened right in the middle of editing my new book on Genesis. I hope you caught those first articles on social justice that we created in January in our PIECES OF THE PUZZLE topics.
Here is a sampling of what we have posted so far: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/is-social-justice-useful-or-harmful-to-society/.https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/what-is-true-social-justice/ HOW DO WE DEFINE SOCIAL JUSTICE
The neat thing is that these articles seemed to coordinate with our weekly bible study called COME AS A CHILD which is now going through The Book of Numbers. That was a God thing; totally unplanned. This seems to be a HUGE subject in the Christian world right now. We would love your comments on this very controversial set of articles. Some of our friends are using then for conversation starters with their teens and in homeschool.
AN APPLE A DAY TOPICS
The AN APPLE A DAY topics got very busy with the beginning of 2020 too.
Our focus in January landed on how the pattern that God gave for the tabernacle in the wilderness gives us suggestions for maintaining a healthy and holy body; which can function as a temporary temple for God to dwell in while we walk this earth. The first articles centered around heart health and there will be a few more of those that are more specific. Here is what we have posted so far: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/thinking-about-heart-health/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/a-renewed-focus-on-health-and-well-being/ . Let’s get this civil year started out right by thinking of our health concerns and addressing each one. 2020 is going to be the best and healthiest year ever!
COME AS A CHILD TOPICS
Our every Thursday bible study called COME AS A CHILD has been especially eye-opening this January. The book of Numbers has been quite a journey with a surprise around almost every corner that we have turned.
This month we covered Numbers Chapters 16-19 with these articles: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/be-careful-how-you-guard-your-heart/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/god-clarifies-his-leaders/__https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/when-aarons-rod-produced-fruit/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/over-confidence-is-a-very-bad-thing/
I was shocked at how much these articles played into what is happening right now in the area of world events; and I was also pleased that the PIECES OF THE PUZZLE articles on social justice coordinated with a few of these lessons. That was all God; not the author. The author had no idea what God was doing until it was done. My fingers just keep typing and He lead the way. I’m so grateful that is how it works!
THE HOUSE DOCTOR TOPICS
There was a nice, happy little break in all the pretty heavy stuff I’ve mentioned above in order to bring you THE HOUSE DOCTOR articles that we published throughout the month of January.
We had a blast looking at some winter white ideas and then we talked about some January blues. Do you guys realize that solid blues are the primary color choices for decorating in 2020? Things are trending that way and I’ve seen a lot of nice suggestions.
As for right now though; we began transitioning into the Valentine season by keeping some on the reds from Christmas and making them look like a cozy, rustic mountain cottage. Peek into our last January THE HOUSE DOCTOR topic and we will share our winter fun by the fire with you.
You can find THE HOUSE DOCTOR articles for January here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/a-cozy-mountain-cottage-look-to-last-until-spring/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/winter-whites-for-starting-out-a-clean-new-year/https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/january-blues-decor/
PEN ART/SEASONS TOPICS
The Seasons topics should have been too tired to show their faces after the past busy season of December, but they surprised all of us when they were right on time with the Epiphany article called: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/epiphany-magi-wisemen/. We also threw in some poetry for Epiphany that will make you giggle. You can find it under our PEN ART topics, or right here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/cleaning-up-epiphany/ Our PEN ART and SEASONS topics did not forget Epiphany this year.
JANUARY COMMUNITY STORE TOPICS
The IN SEASON Lifestyle Community Store for January found some pretty amazing products that might fit right into your days.
The focus was mostly on time, organization, storage and self-improvement, with a few gift ideas and a few “just because we loved it” items thrown in. You might want to go back and check it out again before moving on to the new and also great new ideas for seasonal products which we are giving you for February. https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-in-season-community-store-for-january-2020/,
EXPECTING A VERY FULL FEBRUARY
Sorry folks, we could care less about that old groundhog. If you want to hear about him; you will need another blog.
Same goes for the superbowl. I’m going to be real nice and not say much about that half-time entertainment they lined up; but for the most part – it stays off my television except by accident.
To each his own. (Who said that anyway???)
Here are some of the great things that we DO have in store for you though:
SEASONS TOPICS
We have two seasonal holidays in February (besides the ground hog and the Superbowl) and they are President’s Day and Valentine’s Day. We will be featuring several articles about each. Also since we are deep into the Winter season now; we will have some poetry about winter for you, as well as some winter soup recipes to add to your collection.
AN APPLE A DAY TOPICS
Be expecting many more articles on health topics. We will continue our search for ways to improve heart health in February. Seems appropriate for the month of love.
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO TOPICS
For some fun and romantic winter travel; we are recommending some old favorites; Gorham’s Bluff, Alabama and Blowing Rock North Carolina. We are also working on a new small town article about Black Mountain, North Carolina. A trip to Black Mountain would be a fabulous gift for your valentine this year. You could get extra adventurous and combine Blowing Rock and Black Mountain. They are not that far away from each other. Be looking for all the details soon.
THE HOUSE DOCTOR TOPICS
In February we will show you how simple it was to turn our January mountain cottage into a Valentine’s Retreat.
MONDAY NIGHT MENUS TOPICS
Maybe it is the new year’s diet resolutions; but we seem to be skipping our MONDAY NIGHT MENU topics lately. We will make up for that this time with some great winter soup recipes that are also healthy. There will be other new recipes and meal plans as the month progresses. We have a special feature about cooking with your Valentine.

Valentine’s Gift ideas are in huge demand this month; and we have found some really nice and fun ideas for you. COME AS A CHILD TOPICS
We are moving ahead through the book of Numbers in February. You don’t want to miss a lesson; so stay with us.
PIECES OF THE PUZZLE TOPICS
Our series on social justice is continuing in February. Be sure to turn to them and see if you can open your eyes to the truth about social justice in America.
We want to hear your comments.
Some of our readers are using these articles as springboards for talking points with their teenagers. Teens of this era have probably never heard these comments concerning the subject. Don’t let history write out their knowledge.
Thank you for supporting The IN SEASON Lifestyle and blog.
We love and appreciate our readers.
