All through this Fall season we have been celebrating with all of the loudest sounds of joy unspeakable!
The sounds of laughter and songs and fellowship have prevailed. The Feast of Tabernacles left us breathless with gratitude from all of the many beautiful events, especially that great last day.
Our hearts are full.
Now the Hebraic calendar days turn to the month of Chesvan.
Suddenly we experience just the opposite.
All of the loudness from the sounds of joy are now past. We have come to another time of the year. This one creeps into our days as quietly as a whisper.
The month of Chesvan comes softly and gently not making one sound. It has arrived without any fanfare at all bringing only this strange type of silence.
Until now; we had almost forgotten the sounds of silence.
It isn’t a bad silence though;. This is a good silence.
A quiet space-in-time called Chesvan, brings us into a place for receiving yet another great gift from God.
The gift is called silence.
Chesvan’s silence is very peaceful. God has strategically placed it there to help us process all of the seasons we have just journeyed through together.
There was so much!
It was all so full!
We feel so satisfied.
Now we pause; so that those past golden days can all sink down from the memories in our heads into the places of our hearts.
This new month is the perfect time to stop and take a deep breath.
In this quiet time, we can know the deep pleasure and joy of how God rolls out the perfect events of the calendar for us.
We have reached the place of “in-between” in our events of this year’s unfolding.
These are the days right after Tabernacles; but before Hanukkah and the date that marks the Conception of Christ.
The silence echoes the meaning and significance of all we have been through so far.
Our minds have time to comprehend the paths that God led us down in the days before. As we take a refreshing breath; we anticipate the days which lie ahead on God’s blessed calendar of life.
All is good, peaceful and restful with our souls.
We reflect and meditate so much deeper, taking our time. Our hearts are full of Thanksgiving.
Now the joy inside our hearts enters a restful sleep until it is time for the next dance.
We can feel the healing and restoration taking place.
God is good.
All the time.
Even in the quiet days at the beginning of Chesvan.
