THREE GREAT BLOGS FOR FATHERS

ALL FATHERS NEED A LITTLE COMMUNITY SUPPORT

It is almost Father’s Day and so many of us have been thinking about all the perfect gifts for all the great Dad’s that we know and love.

Often all many fathers really need is a little advice from those others of their own communities who have already “been there” and “done that.”  Just as Moms often need mentors they admire and respect and seek advice from; so do Dads.

Sometimes this annual event we call Father’s Day puts a lot of pressure on the male population of our culture.

How can they manage to live up to the expectations that those they love are anticipating from them; not just on this special day but on every day of their lives?

It can’t be easy.

They need all the help they can get.

ARE THERE MOMMY BLOGS FOR DADS?

Mom’s who have no one to turn to can reach out to all the many helpful Mommy blogs; but what about Dads?

Where do today’s fathers go to find good advice, community like them, and support on-line that is helpful and full of fantastic and accurate concepts and ideas?

I have some good news; these types of blogs DO exist and many of them are awesome.

MY FATHER’S DAY GIFT TO ALL THE DAD’S WHO ARE READING

As a little Father’s Day gift to all of our Dads who read The IN SEASON Lifestyle; I’m going to give you a preview of a few of the best of the “Dad-related” blogs.  We did this a few years ago and received a great response.  The blogs listed here today are new and updated, as the blogging world changes all the time.  We’ve taken an approach that relates to our blog’s theme also.  These are Christian blogs about the everyday life of fathers.

If you are a man looking for an on-line place for great community advice on how to meet all of those high expectations of your family and friends that come along with your position in life; just take heart and start reading from the list below.

With these websites at hand, you’ve come to yet another source of helpful information that is free, easy to access and totally available to all fathers. I would highly advise bookmarking these and checking in to see what they are up to often.

OUR FAVORITE PICKS FOR 2022

Here are a few of the favorite websites that other Dad’s have recommended to me.  I have read them myself and chose the blogs that I perceive to be working for Christian Dads as the best of the best

MANHOOD JOURNEY

Author Kent Evans has a great blog going on the subject of biblical manhood and fatherhood.  You can find this one at:  https://manhoodjourney.org/blog/.

There are great posts on the subject of raising kids God’s way. He talks about having a good marriage as well as raising kids properly.  There is useful advice on practical subjects such as whether or not your child is ready to use a cell phone, and the negative effects that social media can have on kids.

As well as frequent posts on the day-to-day living of manhood/fatherhood, there is a recommended bible study for father’s and sons to do together.  I think that was my favorite part of the blog.  What better way to open the door for fathers and sons to communicate and grow together than to participate in a bible study with each other?

He offers detailed information on several books he wrote about biblical fatherhood and shares a podcast that he co-hosts called The Father On Purpose Podcast.  There are bundles of information you can acquire on fatherhood and discipleship, many of them free of charge.

The mission he gives out this week for fathers is to memorize 2 Timothy3:16-17.  This verse is what equips men to led their families under God.  I love that this verse is one of the verses they focus on; because it is very compatible with our The IN SEASON Lifestyle focus scripture of 2 Timothy 4:2.

BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE

This blog is contributed to by many writers, but the men seem to outnumber the women.  It is all about family, marriage, raising kids and walking with God every day.

The subjects and sections are very well organized and this blog is easy to navigate. You can find articles on almost any topic of interest.  I’ll just post some sample links so you can get the jest of what they are writing about.   Here are three of the article links that pertain to fatherhood:  https://www.beautifulchristianlife.com/blog/biblical-fathering-on-being-fair, https://www.beautifulchristianlife.com/blog/biblical-fathering-on-being-forthright, https://www.beautifulchristianlife.com/blog/12-wonderful-responsibilities-god-has-given-men,

All of these articles are very insightful and full of suggestions that are very helpful to Dads wanting to lead their families.

WINGMEN.ORG

This is a non-denominational group of guys striving to get closer to God.  They are working together to bring other men together to affirm their identity in Christ. It is not specifically about “fatherhood” but this blog does affirm and support the worthy role of a father; and often relates to the role of fatherhood in its talks and topics.

For example; one of their video features is by one of my favorite fathers: Mr. Josh McDowell. You will find many other well-known Christian speakers making a difference on this website.

So go for it Dads!  Get all the on-line support you need.  Add these tools to your ever-growing tool box.

Happy reading and HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!!!!
