Looking for a fun new recipe to try out while you are sitting around watching all of those football games, or needing a change from the usual amount of hamburgers you consume?
We’ve grown to love this one at our house. You can freeze them and have them ready to toast whenever you get the craving.
Here is the idea:
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground hamburger crumbled and fried on the stovetop
3 Tablespoons Worstershire Sauce
1 medium onion chopped and sauteed
1 large whole dill pickle cut into small chops
1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 Tsp. garlic
1 Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. ground pepper
1 Tsp. onion powder
1 pkg. plant based egg roll wraps (I use nasoya)
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
Olive Oil for deep frying – I used a large bottle
Directions:
Saute ground beef and onions in Worstershire sauce, add seasonings, drain grease and place mix inside a large mixing bowl. Chop pickles and add to mix. Pour grated cheese into mix and stir well.
Lay eggroll wrapper with the triangle end toward you. Line a roll of hamburger mixture in the middle of the wrapper. Fold each side inside toward meat mix, then fold over that with bottom triangle point. Tuck the bottom around all the mix to hold together the two sides and roll tightly toward top triangle point. Using a pasta brush, spread whipped cream over top tip of wrap. As you roll seal the top tightly.
Prepare your oil in a deep fryer. Once it is hot drop in three Chinese Cheeseburgers at a time. Let them brown. If they float to the top, hold one side with tongues until it has browned like the rest. Continue to deep fry, three at a time until all wraps are used. Drain finished rolls on paper towels and serve hot with sauce on the side.
The sauce is whatever you would put on a hamburger, but all mixed together in a bowl. We like ketchup, mustard and mayo in three equal parts for our sauce.
Happy eating!
