Today is Rosh Hashanah/The Feast of Trumpets!
For Christians this day is the celebration of The Coronation of our King – Jesus.
One day He will return for us. Will this be the year? Today we are celebrating that fact as well as many other new beginnings.
LOOKING TO THE RETURN OF OUR BRIDE GROOM
We start a brand new Hebraic year today.
Our lives will once again turn a page.
Over the last few months we have spent a lot of time looking back and sorting out our last year before God with prayer, meditations and fasting.
Of course we want to keep our wedding garments white and pure and clean.
We want to be sure to have lots of oil in our lamps in case the groom returns in the middle of the night!
PROMISES FOR THE YEAR TO COME
Also; there are many new things that God has shown us during our time with Him. These are things we have made goals for this new year. They are a part of our first-fruits offerings to God from the harvest of our souls for this past year.
We hold those goals up to Our Father today. With all of our hearts we offer our first and our best for the coming year. Hopefully, we can now come before God with clean and holy hands because of all the hard work of cleaning, repenting and turning we did during the past month of Elul. When Tishrei arrives; all things are new.
TEN AWESOME DAYS LEFT BEFORE ATONEMENT
It isn’t too late to keep cleaning, repenting and turning; if you haven’t done so.
The blasting shofar sound on The Feast of Trumpets is our warning to get ready to meet Our King – Jesus. 10 days are left before Atonement!
The amazing sound of the shofar we hear on The Feast of Trumpets signifies that we have ONLY ten days between The Feast of Trumpets and The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) in which to finish our final steps for repentance over the last year and turn our ways around as we go into the new year.
One door closes; another door opens.
By The Day of Atonement our repenting and turning should all be done. We should stand before God looking forward to what He will send us to do in the new year that starts today.
DIP APPLES IN HONEY AND EAT SWEET LOAVES OF CHALLAH
So we dip apples in honey. We eat sweet treats today because they are symbolic of the desire for a sweet new year to come.
We greet everyone with “Shana Tova! May you have a sweet new year!”
A DAY WITH MANY MESSAGES
Even though The Feast of Trumpets is a corporate celebration, it is also something special to be shared between each individual and God. We further understand that it is also a great way for couples to start off a good new year of marriage. It is a great time to be sharing the goals for the next blessings of another fruitful year of marriage.
Maybe you are having to spend The Feast of Trumpets all alone. Perhaps your family doesn’t yet understand what a blessing this day is. That should not stop your celebration. God loves you immensely and He has a plan for your next year. Maybe we can help fill your day with these thoughts by sharing a lovely production of a Rosh Hashanah Video with a message inside for today’s world.
Perhaps you are gathered with your family for The Feast of Trumpets for the first time. You may not yet understand where to start. This video will help you to share the day together.
Here is the link; if you are also looking for a way to hear the shofar and a good sound message that speaks of our anticipation of the return of Messiah. This great production shares all the ways that The Feast of Trumpets symbolizes what God desires from us. This blog takes no credit for the production. Credits are provided at the end of the video. We simply love sharing God’s truth from those who have followed it faithfully. My hat is off to those who made this amazingly beautiful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp2XJ11d9oc.
