May was an amazing month! So many activities were happening at once. We barely had time to cover our usual subjects.

COUNTING THE OMER
We counted the omer from a New Testament Christian point of view. It was an interesting experience and I hope you were able to participate.

If you have never done this exercise before; you need to realize its significance and how it helps us to grow closer to God each day.
The seven weeks of counting remind of of the seven days of creation again. The ancient people did this exercise to prepare to be able to receive Torah. We do it for the same reason and more. It really is about improving our humanness; then turning it over to God to finish. This is a type of preparation, first for Pentecost; and also for eternity.
As well as receiving the wisdom of the Torah, we are remembering the parable of the 10 virgins. This form of counting is equivalent to filling your jar with oil in order to have light in your possession when the Groom comes for the Bride.
Jesus is going to return for us!
The Groom is Jesus and the Bride is The Church. The oil represents the filling of the Holy Spirit that comes to us gradually as we await Pentecost.
The final day after all of the counting; called Pentecost or Shavuot in Hebrew; represents a complete filling up of God’s Holy Spirit for His people.
It takes counting all the way to the end to get this vision for exactly why this growing process is done. You will not realize the culmination of blessings until you reach the end and look back. It is a form of preparation we do each year before Pentecost.
These devotions are also good for any time in which you are feeling too distant or that God is too far away. They will give you reminders and help you remember how faithful and true our Messiah is. You will find yourself looking forward and anticipating His soon-coming return.
PENTECOST
COME AS A CHILD THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY
We wrapped up our study on Deuteronomy in May. This bible study group has come a long way toward finishing a page-by-page study through the Old Testament.
We have made it completely through the Torah! I find that comforting and significant just as we are reaching the time of Pentecost. God’s timing is always better than ours.
Next month we will begin our study on Joshua! It will be an exciting book to cover so stay with us and tell your friends to join in with us too. We love for you to share these posts.

A PREVIEW OF ARTICLES COMING IN JUNE 2022
COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY PREVIEW
As I mentioned in the previous section of this article; we will start the Joshua COME AS A CHILD Bible Study in July.
It is going to be interesting and full of surprises. We will learn a lot more about living in today’s world from those who lived in the ancient days. I hope you will come and join us every Thursday.

The month kicks off with a Father’s Day celebration. We hope to have EVERYTHING you need for a perfect celebration available at your fingertips; right here in one place.
Another big part of our SEASONS section in June will be all about summer. So many great things happen when summer comes along. We hope to offer you tips on how to enjoy it to its fullest extent.
THE HOUSE DOCTOR
Personally; we are keeping our glorious greens this summer season. They blend right in with the lovely green grasses of summertime. However; we know we have a lot of beach people here. There will be posts about summer decorating in many styles; with a great emphasis on beach themes.
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO
Again; we are going to be bringing you reports on how to enjoy travel at some of our favorite beach spots; and maybe a few other places too.
PEN ART
We shared our ideas for Grandparent’s camp last year; but we have fresh new ideas coming up for this year. When we get to this part of the season; we will share all of them with you.
If we have time we will throw in some new book reviews. There are some great ones out there right now.
Also; we might surprise you with our latest science fiction short story. Maybe we will have time to finish it. Time is of the essence right now as we are working on two workbooks as well as trying to get our Exodus study summary published this summer. When all of this falls together; you guys will be the first to know.
MONDAY NIGHT MENUS
Summer is the time for ice cream, cold desserts and drinks and summer salads and vegetables. We also have some new BBQ recipes to add to our collection of main dishes for summer. There will also be some surprises; so keep watching this column for new ideas.

AN APPLE A DAY
We think summer is the best time ever to get inspired to do all of those things that keep us healthy; both physically and spiritually. Life decisions are part of staying healthy too. All of these subjects are on our mind and could come out this month. Time will tell.
GROW OLD WITH ME
We keep promising to bring more articles on preparing to retire. If time permits we are going to do that this month. So many hard things to think about at once; maybe these suggestions will help someone.
