THE WORD FOR MARCH OF 2019
The IN SEASON Lifestyle looked back over this past month of March and decided that without a doubt the one word to describe the month was “celebrations.”
ST. PATRICK’S CELEBRATION
There was a celebration for St. Patrick’s Day. You can review our article here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/how-will-you-celebrate-st-patricks-day/
We shared our favorite recipe for making corned beef and cabbage too. If you missed it; just click here: http://MY FAVORITE RECIPE FOR CORNED-BEEF AND CABBAGE
SPRING HAS SPRUNG
After that we enjoyed the beginnings of Spring. What a welcomed old friend to be greeting at our front door.
Spring brought lots of smiles to our faces and we began to relax a bit more in spite of all the “getting ready” that also comes to us in the springtime.
One goal around this community was to keep the balance, the peace and harmony, while at the same time beginning those spring cleaning chores a bit early.
Getting a head start on these things always helps you to enjoy everything along the way.
PURIM PARTY
Right after celebrating the beginning of Spring, we celebrated the post-Mosaic holiday called Purim.
Some of our readers celebrated Purim for the very first time this year; as they were just realizing that it IS a Christian holiday; not just a Jewish holiday.
Both cultures have a lot to celebrate when we stop to consider all the miracles of Purim.
You might want to reference these articles and refer to them for reminders as you go through the celebrations from year-to-year with your own family. We know you will definitely form your own family traditions around this special day. What does your family enjoy the most?
This year we put most of our emphasis on the fact that if Esther had not fulfilled her destiny toward the king; we might not have had our Savior Jesus Christ; as the wicked Haman might have succeeded in wiping out the whole Jewish nation. Thank God, Esther responded to her calling; and we all have benefited in the end.
Next year I would like to put more emphasis on the fact that Purim is also a time for sharing with others and have the kids help to make baskets to be anonymously distributed around the neighborhood, mostly to the elderly who are not able to get out and celebrate.
If you do one thing different every year – the whole significance sinks in over the years. The story of Esther and The King and the holiday of Purim contains so MANY significant facts that are well worth considering as we go through our spring time happenings.
I could not resist posting some of the fun photos of our own celebration here. We love that Purim is a playful celebration that does a wonderful job of teaching the basic concepts of God’s ways to children. Adults can always use a refresher too! Adults are a lot like kids; they learn better when they are having fun.
Just tell them how good the hamentashens are – they will show up!
COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY IN MARCH
In the midst of all this celebration; we also did some great bible studies. Please pull up a chair every Thursday and join us for the COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY. This month we covered Chapters 2 and 3 of The Book of Numbers. Here are some links to a few of the March lessons; if you want to go back and review: http://THE PLACE FOR THE LEVITES – COME AS A CHILD LESSON 251, http://GOD IS MY JUDGE – COME AS A CHILD – LESSON 250, http://HOW THE TRIBES OF EPHRAIM AND MANESSEH WERE DIFFERENT – COME AS A CHILD – LESSON 249
APRIL WILL BRING EVEN MORE OF THE SAME
You could just say “ditto” to the month of April as far as celebrations are concerned. Only in April there are MORE; and they are all a VERY SIGNIFICANT more.
VERY SIGNIFICANT RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS
We will start the Spring Holy Days of God beginning with Passover.
Next comes The Seven Days of Unleavened Bread.
We will share a glorious celebration of the Resurrection of Christ with our articles on Early First Fruits.
This is a very special time of the year and we will give you articles on how to make your heart, family and home feel the heart of the season.
We can’t forget to begin counting the Omer right after our Passover celebrations. It is important to keep those 50 days leading up to Pentecost focused on our Beloved and see what He desires to teach our hearts about living inside out and upside down.
There will be a lot of theses types of discussions in our April articles to come.
NEW RECIPES
Some of our favorite recipes come to mind as we prepare our tables for Passover and we will share those as well as some spiritual food for thought to go along with the physical things.
GETTING HEALTHY
Now that the sun is shinning a lot more; we want to focus more on our AN APPLE A DAY COLUMN in April.
What do we need to consider to get our bodies in shape for the upcoming summer season?
How important is it to keep our minds as fit as our bodies?
We will talk more about these things in April.
PEN ART IS OVERDUE
There are book reviews, movie reviews and interviews with artists that have not been finished up. We’ve meant to get to these; but all of the seasonal things have set our priorities.
One of our goals this Spring is to get those more artsy-types of articles out and all polished up for you to read. Come and see how the rest of the word is doing the arts of life.
A few of these articles have been simmering and waiting for their time to come forth; just like fine wine from the vineyards. I think you are going to enjoy reading more about various parts of the artistic world in The IN SEASON Lifestyle in April.
APRIL PRODUCTS TO CONSIDER
Have you visited The IN SEASON Lifestyle Community Store for April yet? We have displayed some of the products you might want to order ahead for April’s The IN SEASON Lifestyle Family Tree. Here is a link to the store: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-in-season-community-store-for-april-2019/ .
The tree is still being created; so our photo will come out very early in April (hopefully in just a few days) but you can get a glimpse of the products that we will be using in our community store now, and order anything that you need ahead of time. We may be adding products with each new article too; so pay attention to the end of each post. The products will be timely for the season that we are going through.
Do you have memories of a product you saw a few months ago and forgot to order? No worries; just click on that month’s The IN SEASON Community Store’s page and place your orders. You will always find the Community Stores for each month under our Topics/Products tab at the top of each blog post.
Do we need a blog compass? It always helps when you know your way around a place. Whenever you have time, I would advice that you just click on all the different tabs and topics at the top of the blog and get familiar with all that is going on here. You might be surprised at what you’ve missed!
Of course, there is always the right side of the home page that will let you pull up posts by the month too. Good tools come in handy; so don’t forget to use them when you are here with us!
A COMMUNITY HAS BEEN FORMING
We are a community now.
Great communities aren’t planned; they form together because they share common interests, lifestyles and concerns. They grow and develop from a common base. We can see this happening around all of our posts in this blog community that wishes to stay focused on 2 Timothy 4:2; and living like Jesus would.
That seat above is yours!
We saved it for you.
You are an important part of our thriving community here and our very honored guest.
This blog cherishes your thoughts, comments and opinions. Please send us your news to share with the whole community. We want all of our neighbors to get to know each other better. That only happens when everyone decides to deliberately and intentionally share the love.
Our part of sharing comes at you in all these carefully chosen words almost every day – now the ball is in your court.
What makes your world go round as you are living life upside down and inside out?
What do you have to share and contribute?
You can let us know in an e-mail to wordcastlepublications@gmail.com. If you have poetry or a short story to share send it on. Just add it into the body of the e-mail; as we do not open attachments. We would love to hear about it. If you have photos of some of your family’s seasonal events; please share the love.
We want to hear from you!
MOVING ON TO THE FUTURE
So thank you March for all of your magical and charming adventures and celebrations.
Now we begin to welcome the times of April 2019.
Let’s share them together and cherish each moment that comes along.
