I can’t believe that June has passed us by and we are already into the first parts of July!
Time flies by quickly when life is full! It has certainly been full here at The IN SEASON Lifestyle this summer. There is also so much MORE to come.
Let’s pause and look back over June; then continue to preview what the rest of July will be like:
THE BLESSINGS OF JUNE 2021
THURSDAY BIBLE STUDIES
Our COME AS A CHILD on-going walk through the bible studies continued every Thursday in June. We are now in the book of Deuteronomy. Here are the lessons we covered in June: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/miscellaneous-laws-of-israels-camp/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/should-an-israelite-remarry/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-newly-weds-of-israel/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/regarding-millstones/,
PEN ART
This column was full in June. We brought poetry, other writings and crafts. Some of the crafts were teaching tools for children to learn about life. The June Family Tree was used in this fashion for celebrating Father’s Day, Pentecost and Flag Day. If you missed the information on how to make your own just click here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/junes-family-tree-features-for-the-in-season-lifestyle/. If you missed our poem about “home” you can read it here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/a-poem-about-home/. Our pick for Father’s Day poetry was a poem written by one of our readers: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-poetry-winner/.
Also included in June is yet another one of the author’s favorite poems: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/morning-poetry/
We gave you the family tree ideas for June earlier; so later in June we gave you The Family Tree ideas for July; so you could go ahead and prepare for the next month: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/july-family-tree-for-the-in-season-lifestyle/.
PEN ART articles were FULL in June; giving us lots of new writing, poetry and crafty things to do to highlight the joy of the seasons of our lives.
GREAT SUMMER RECIPES
Our MONDAY NIGHT MENUS column articles brought on the summer recipes that we all love to use in this season. There were many; and I’ll just link you to them here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/salads-for-summer/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/ice-cream-recipes-for-hot-summer-days/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/summer-vegetables-for-dinner-on-the-porch/. We also gave a few hints on how to feed your Father in grand style on Father’s Day: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-food/.
SEASONS
We shared lots of seasonal events in June. One of them was Flag Day; and here is the article we published on that occasion: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/flag-day-celebration-seasons/.
Another favorite season that was celebrated in a big way was was Father’s Day. Just click here to re-read any of those articles: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-poetry-winner/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-food/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-decorations/.
Another time that started in June was the month of Tumuz on the Hebraic calendar. Many have been afraid of the observances of this day in the past because the word “Tumuz” was the name for a false, pagan god. We certainly would not want to celebrate that; but we presented an article that delves into a more Christian meaning which has been a Hebraic practice for years (since the days of Moses) that IS NOT pagan; but actually a way to keep God’s ever evolving calendar. This article might bring a new balance to the subject; and that is our hope.
Observing God’s calendar is a critical and very important part of the Hebraic lifestyle that we love here at The IN SEASON Lifestyle; and this section of time is a new feature on our personal calendars that we feel might have been neglected in the past
You can read both articles on this controversial subject here; and I hope you get the drift that this is yet another period of time that God has carved out in the calendar to make us think of who we are and how we should be living our lives. It basically expands on the theory that there is a time for everything; which is the driving force behind most of our blogging here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/why-is-tammuz-used-as-a-name-on-gods-calendar/; https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/a-time-to-mourn/
Because of our love for God’s calendar we also reviewed some thoughts on keeping Sabbath and how important that is to us. As a side-note to that thought we also posted a past article about how God tells time. https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/weekly-sabbaths-and-high-sabbaths-keeping-sabbath-before-god/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/gods-calendar/.
THE HOUSE DOCTOR
We have actually been enjoying all the Navy Blues we took on back in December of last year. Our family liked it so much that we haven’t felt the need to change the house decor in months now. The really neat thing about this is that what was great for winter is also wonderful in the summer months. I’ve added pops of yellow here and there and tried to completely declutter and give everything a very minimalistic look. It has been greatly enjoyed!
However; we know that there are so many Patriots out there that want to see that Red, White and Blue. Here is a link: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/fathers-day-decorations/.
PRODUCTS FOR JUNE
Of course we are always quick to add our own publications to the the growing list of products sponsored by this blog. Here is an article on how you can purchase two books written by Gail Landgraf, which are a compilation of this blog’s Genesis Study that was done in the past. Reading these books is like taking a walk through Genesis and all of the adventures come alive for you. Just click here to find out more: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-gospel-hidden-in-genesis-book-1-of-2/.
We’ve also included The IN SEASON Lifestyle Community Store here for you to browse in June and July. There are some changes in the way we present the store now; we are looking several months into the future instead of focusing on the blog articles we have posted for the month. That way; you can order in a more timely manner. Check it out here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-in-season-lifestyle-community-store-for-august-2021/
UPCOMING NEW BLESSINGS IN JULY 2021
July always sneaks up on us because Independence Day arrives so close to the end of the month of June. We are all about freedom and independence here; so by the time we post those articles in a timely manner; we find ourselves living already deep into the days of July.
Also with the crazy rhythms of computing these days; we are not allowed to be very precise with our Newsletter publications dates. I say that to tell you we are just now publishing the June Newsletter, and we are already close to the middle of July.
Couldn’t be helped!
SEASONS FOR JULY 2021
June was SO FULL and July is turning out to be the same way. We will not post any review links for July until we publish our July Newsletter; but I can tell you (and some of you already know) we have planned lots of Independence Day articles and we will share the fun we found on Independence Day more in the next Newsletter.
This is the season to be thinking of freedom and independence! It ties right in with the thoughts of the Hebraic month of Tumuz too; since the Jewish people are mourning the LOSS of their freedom and independence over periods of time and history. This speaks to us of how precious and dear our freedom is and surely let’s us know never to take it for granted.
PEN ART MAY HAVE A FEW BOOK REVIEWS IN JULY
In relation to this I am currently reading a book that I hope to review in July. The title is “Live Not By Lies” and it has some very interesting concepts about how we can work on keeping our country free from socialist, communist and cancel culture.
Another great book I hope to review is called: “The Code Breaker” by Walter Isaacson. It is the story of the scientist who won a Nobel Prize for her work on CRISPER technology; which gives us the capacity to edit genes. I want to review the book and discuss how this might affect the world from this moment forward in light of a Christian/Hebraic world view.
Book reviews aren’t all that we are going to be creative about though; we are about to hold our annual GMA AND POP CAMP. This is ALL ABOUT the grandkids and it is so exciting to know we will have them with us for a whole week of adventures. I know the week will be entirely too short; but we will cover for you when we review July. There are great plans for stories, adventures and treats. Pray for us!
MONDAY NIGHT MENUS FOR JULY
July recipes will be about whatever foods are tasty in hot weather. We will talk about seasonal dishes that use fresh produce and berries a lot. Pull up a chair and join the table. July will be fun for food subjects here.
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO
July is a great month for traveling and we have articles that will take you to Blue Ridge, GA for Independence Day and then a summer weekend trip to enjoy in Tuscumbia, AL. There may be more; we are hoping to cover some new beaches and find some summer fun adventurous trips for kids to enjoy too.
AN APPLE A DAY
Summer is the perfect time to focus on health and exercise. There will be a few July articles that cover these subjects and more toward a healthier lifestyle in 2021.
COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY IN JULY
We will continue our every-Thursday post as we journey through the book of Deuteronomy. So much of this review of the laws and statutes that Moses was giving the people of God just before his death can be related to today’s world and today’s culture. Keep following us as we continue to consider and reconsider each part of the civil world and the laws that affect each of us daily. They were first put into effect way back in the days of Israel forming as a nation; yet they are still relevant in so many ways.
If you are waiting on the summery of our Exodus study; please be patient. It will be produced at some point this year; but first we are assembling a new workbook to go along with our Genesis Summary in our first two books titled THE GOSPEL HIDDEN IN GENESIS. If you haven’t ordered these books yet; you must!
Book Two is FULL of great characters and adventures and I think I enjoyed writing it even more than Book One. If you are a fan of the life of Joseph; you will love those parts of the publication of Book Two. These are listed for sale on Amazon.com, and the links are provided for you in our Community Store link which we posted above in the June preview. Be sure to order your copies today.
Speaking of these books; some exciting news for our readers is that the two books; THE GOSPEL HIDDEN IN GENESIS BOOK ONE OF TWO, AND THE GOSPEL HIDDEN IN GENESIS BOOK TWO OF TWO will be given away at the end of August to any new people who sign up for our newsletter while reading the blog this month. Look for the links and sign up. We will e-mail the winner and obtain your shipping information when the announcement is made to give the books away at the end of August.
THE HOUSE DOCTOR FOR JULY 2021
We haven’t delved into any beachy decorating themes this summer. It is time! Stay tuned for more decorating ideas that incorporate the beach into our daily living.
July will have surprises around every corner. Stay with us and we hope you enjoy your participation in this little community of believers.
Keep living your life upside down and inside out; like Jesus did!
