JULY REVIEW
We are always rushing to catch up with ourselves here!
This just seems to be the nature of blogging; but July has slipped away and August is already here. Keeping that in mind; we want to do the monthly recap of July and then quickly bring you the monthly preview of August articles before they are all already published!
July turned out to be one of the busiest blogging months ever.
There is so much going on as we near the ending points of summer and families everywhere are beginning to plan for starting school as well as sharing many other traditional pre-fall activities. Parts of America seem to be wanting to return to normal (whatever that is now) and parts of our country are again braced and ready to endure the outcome of new virus mutations.
Whatever your own personal reality; there is so much chatter as to the rights and wrongs of how to react and respond to it all. Most of us are just trying to end summer as successfully as possible and hoping to continue down the same path toward Fall. I urge everyone to pray for our nation as they have never prayed before.
We still have so much to get through.
I definitely think we have all become so much better at waiting on God and taking one day at a time. They say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. So many of us are learning that staying in a godly community is extremely important. It does seem that July with all of its Independence Day memorials makes us take the time to stop and think more politically than usual.
SIGNS OF THE TIMES
I’m taking these next words totally out of context; but lately Senator Ted Cruz made a statement which I absolutely loved, will support and was glad to hear. He was speaking about an economical issue concerning the use of crypto-currency; but I think his statement could apply to every single facet of society and overall life in general for these times we are going through.
He said; “We shouldn’t destroy people’s lives and livelihoods from complete ignorance.”
It has been a long time since I’ve heard such good common sense words of wisdom from the vocal cords of any government official. It sounded blunt; but oh so good. If I were going to use any one word to describe the state of things in our government and most of our public arena right now; it would be that specific word: “ignorance.”
Ignorance is definitely NOT bliss. God has given each one of us a good healthy brain and He expects us to use them.
As far as moving on to “normal” life; people in general seem to have become very ignorant of researching facts for truth and resolving the course of their actions based on what they have intelligently decided for themselves. The public has increasingly relied on the government, social media and the fake media to proclaim what is best for them; regardless of any science, research, expert witnesses, or common sense; much less using the scriptures and trusting in God’s provision. It is as if everyone suddenly forgot that the government works for the people; not the other way around.
Here is an oxymoron – How do we help the over-educated ignorant members of our population understand common sense and sound advice? It is impossible for people raised on twisted truths to understand the need for honesty and fair practices. The institutes of higher education in a country are only as good as the citizens who fund them and allow them to exist.
What on earth went so wrong so fast?
As you might have already noticed; this blog NEVER blindly follows the crowd.
The fact that we put scriptural values first and tend to seek out honest and dependable knowledge from REAL experts; leaves us in the place of the minority most of the time now. It is doubtful that you could ever find the unusual assortment of Christian-Hebraic thinking articles which we produce here anywhere else. (This is just another example of God taking the bad and working it out for our good.) We follow no denomination or church organization; we are simply interpreting the scriptures to the best of our knowledge in the fashion that God shows us as we move along through life with trust and obedience.
Thankfully, this makes things much more interesting for our faithful readers.
So many things came to light in July.
Hopefully; our articles for the month reflected God’s goodness, mercy and truth in all of the strange situations and circumstances that developed throughout the month. In times such as this; we feel that truth is critical and most necessary. It just seems critical that people working for The Kingdom of Heaven have courage, be brave and speak out when needed.
JULY TOPICS REVIEWED
Each of our COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY articles for July seemed to apply both to the times they referred to in the scriptures as well as the current times we are living in today. This is often the case when you study the Old Testament books; much of it still applies to our daily lives today.
Here is a recap of all of those articles for July in case you wish to review them again: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/do-not-muzzle-your-ox/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/solving-disputes/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/be-humble-and-kind/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/an-eye-for-an-eye/
Also relevant to the times; our PEN ART topics published a book review on “The Code Breaker” by Walter Isaacson.
This book is all about DNA and gene editing; which just happens to be much of the science used in formulating some of the vaccines now being used in the COVID pandemic. Just reading this book will dispel much of the ignorance about some of the science. I found it a very helpful read; and hope you will too. Here is a recap of the article just in case you missed it: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/book-review-of-the-code-breaker-by-walter-isaacson/
.
For some lighter reading; THE HOUSE DOCTOR topics published an article about beach décor. Some of us desire to keep living that carefree beach life as long as possible as summer now begins to fade away. If we can’t do it at the beach in reality; we might just do that inside our homes.
Here is the article; hope you enjoy reviewing it once more before Fall appears: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/beach-decor/.
The AN APPLE A DAY topics featured an article on “healthy living” titled; “Nurturing The Soul.” Here is our recap of that article: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/day-one/. Another article from this topic included ways to jazz up your daily exercise routines: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/exercise-health/.
Our MONDAY NIGHT MENU TOPICS included some delicious recipes for blackberries; https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/recipes-for-the-little-blackberry-the-most-nutritious-fruit-on-the-earth-monday-night-menus/. There could still be a few berries on the vines; perhaps it isn’t too late to try these out!
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO topics for July included a nice little article on fun things to do in Tuscumbia, Alabama. You can read that again here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/have-you-met-tuscumbia-alabama/. In light of the 4th of July holiday we also printed the fact that Blue Ridge, GA is a great place to spend Independence Day. You can catch those ideas by clicking here:https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/blue-ridge-georgia-for-independence-day/ .
The SEASONS TOPICS also gave us two new Independence Day feature articles; https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/what-does-independence-mean-to-americans-in-2021/ and https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/can-we-return-to-the-true-america/.
That summarizes our July features.
We hope you enjoyed each one!
AUGUST TOPICS PREVIEW
August is going to be yet another colorful month; full of beautiful seasonal traditions, religious activities and just plain old fashioned fun articles. We are doing our part here to make things more normal.
One way we chose to become more “normal” was to begin to communicate with family members that we used to see all the time; but see much less of now.
Our grandchildren have been the ones we missed the most!
So we determined to start out the month of August by sharing our own version of Grandparent’s camp. If you haven’t developed a camp for your grands yet; you are totally missing out on some of the best memory making moments of life.
We will recap and share our experiences with you during the August blog publications. This article will be full of fun ideas as well as feature some great places to visit in Alabama with children.
Of course the COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY articles will continue each Thursday all through the month of August. Deuteronomy is full of wisdom and God is teaching us so much as we go through this book together. Please invite your friends to join in with this on-going, page-by-page, word-by-word bible study each week. Commentary is guaranteed to be unique and original.
The SEASONS topics in August feature a month of Elul devotions and meditations.
We will remind you of everything you need to remember about the upcoming Fall Holy Days, and will also include feature articles on The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement and The Feast of Tabernacles which are coming in the early Fall of this year.
We are excited to announce our new tab at the top of our HOME page which takes you to an interactive calendar that has a seasonal devotional meditation for each day of each season. It is called The ALL MY DAYS Calendar. This will be an on-going feature, and it will be renewed and updated every seven days from this day forward. If you are a Hebraic-thinking Christian who loves to keep every part of God’s Calendar; you are going to love this new feature.
PRODUCTS – Of course we have tried to give you a way to find all of the products we have mentioned in our blog articles.
