By the time you receive this Newsletter; we will have already said goodbye to January and quickly stepped right into February.
Can you believe we are this far into 2019?
Before we travel too far into the month of “love” let’s go back a bit to January and reminisce about all the things of that amazing part of the winter of 2019.
We had lots of winter fun in January:
THE HOUSE DOCTOR
After enjoying a dreamy white Christmas we kept the “white” theme going and just went into some “winter” themes. They were beautiful and so refreshing! If you missed our articles on winter decor in January; you can review them again here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/winter-whites-for-starting-out-a-clean-new-year/.
It was suspected that not everyone would stay with white like we did; so for those who wanted a little more color we added our article on The January Blues, which we have also loved using in the winter months. If you missed that article; just click here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/january-blues-decor/
We will give you a few glimpses into a February house we did a few years ago; but this year we are even going to keep the winter whites out through Valentine’s day and longer; and maybe just add in a few reds here and there. It is just too hard to let all of the whites of winter go right now; but keep reading the February articles to see how we have used lots of reds in seasons of the past.
SEASONS – JANUARY WAS FULL OF WINTER EVENTS TO CELEBRATE
There were lots of seasons to celebrate in January besides winter; we had New Year’s Day, then Epiphany (we even threw in a little poetry for Epiphany, and then Tu Bishvat (The New Year of the Trees) and Martin Luther King Day which happened on the same day.
The IN SEASON Lifestyle brought you great articles on each holiday as it happened; but if you missed it just check these links to review: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/new-year-recipes/https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/epiphany-magi-wisemen/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/cleaning-up-epiphany/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/new-year-trees/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/wallking-in-dr-kings-footprints/
So much happened this month in the way of seasonal celebrations! I always seem to think we get a break between celebrating The Incarnation of Christ at Christmas and how Jesus came for our deliverance and redemption at Passover; but there are a lot of ordinary holidays in the middle of these two milestones when you really stop to notice.
MONDAY NIGHT MENUS CELEBRATED NEW YEAR’S DAY
Our MONDAY NIGHT MENUS column brought us a whole menu of New Years Recipes to celebrate and try together. You know you have to have those beans and greens! It is just traditional and you would not want to miss out on this tasty meal even if it wasn’t traditional.
JANUARY NEWSLETTER AND COMMUNITY STORE WITH PREVIEWS OF PRODUCTS FOR FEBRUARY
A lot of our usual columns were ignored in January simply for lack of time. We spent much of our time working ahead and choosing the products we wanted to show you for February. Finally we are feeling like we can offer these seasonal products a month ahead of the seasons so that people can go to the IN SEASON Lifestyle Community Store in January and order their February supplies ahead of the holy days and/or holidays that are coming up; as well as gather the supplemental books and workbooks for the bible studies we promote. There are also seasonal home interior decor items that people may want ahead for the next month and/or season; so we are trying hard to make those adjustments. It truly is keeping us on our toes!
One thing we can promise is that the product promotions will tie in with all of our articles; so we hope you find that useful. We would never compromise the quality of the writing in order to promote products; the storytelling and the sharing of the seasons in God’s peace and love are our primary purpose for even having products.
One way to share is through family gatherings and with teaching tools that reach our children (both young and old.) We are very happy to start with February in presenting our store’s featured item of a different style of The IN SEASON Family Tree for each month of the year.
Don’t miss this as you browse our Community Store and as you read our related articles. Here is the link to the store as well as some other articles that show our features for upcoming February fun: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-valentine-tree-featured-for-february-2019/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/valentines-day-gift-ideas/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-in-season-lifestyle-community-store-for-january-2019/
THE COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY
We shared a lot more facts from The Book of Numbers in January. Most of us are learning a lot about the tribes of Israel as Moses is busily following God’s instructions for organizing the army and structuring the camp order before they begin to move further in the wilderness seeking the Promised Land.
If you are not joining us on Thursdays for this online bible study you are missing some interesting studies. Here is a recap of the lessons we studied in January; and we will be coming up with more of the same to give you in February. Please don’t forget to comment. We want participation from The IN SEASON Lifestyle Community here. It is important for us to know your thoughts and comments.

HERE COMES FEBRUARY
What an amazing month it will be!
As we stated above; there will be some more exciting new adventures in the COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY. God is teaching us so much!
I hope you are not too disappointed that we just skipped right over that old groundhog thing; but the good news is that we already know he saw his shadow and if you need that confirmation; you can look forward to an early spring.
We have a jump-start already on all of the Valentine’s Day activities that will be going on in the first part of February.
The IN SEASON Lifestyle is offering many articles on this subject to browse. They are all full of gift giving ideas, activities, THE VALENTINE TREE that is our February featured product, some very cool decorating ideas for those of you who want to live in a February House and we will also be giving you a few new ideas on some romantic get-a-ways and escapes.
There is a cooking article with a meal you and your significant-other may wish to try to cook together for the big night. We have also included an article on the REAL meaning of Valentine’s Day.
Do you know it?
Aside from all the bible studies, decorating tips, holidays and holy moments; we have a few ordinary yet not so ordinary things we want to talk about and discuss too. Mary Poppins Returns has been reviewed at the movie theatre and we hope to publish our thoughts on that movie soon. We’ve got about three interesting books which are now being reviewed for the PEN ART section of the blog in February and we’ve decided to keep their titles a surprise. Pray that we get in a little time to finish reading all of them! Our reading stack is ever-growing here.
There is an interesting young musician on the scene that you may not have discovered yet; look forward to a very personal interview with an uprising and talented harmonica player who is also a genius with photography. I’ll keep the name a mystery until we can finish the interview. Just one little hint will be given – the word “Nashville.”
Hopefully as the month of February progresses, we will also be offering more daily health tips in AN APPLE A DAY and finishing our article series on Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga. We have many more thoughts to discuss.
The IN SEASON Lifestyle has another series on “organization” that we would like to share at some point. Maybe a few of these articles will make their way into our February days.
There are also some topics under the subject of “family” that keep trying to make their way to the publication process surface.
We’ve entered a short story contest for a child’s story about winter. After that contest is over (win or lose) we hope to be able to share this cute little story either late February or in next January’s publications. Now we have an essay contest in process. If it turns out to be amazing; we will probably publish that essay too.
Let’s not forget President’s Day and Abraham Lincoln and George Washington’s birthdays this month. What do you know of these amazing men?
February is going to be too short; I can already see that coming!
Thank you so much for sharing your winter wonders with us here. We cherish our readers and look forward to gaining lots of new faces into The IN SEASON Lifestyle Community in the months to come.
God bless you until we meet again;
