Whew!
Was that August that just whizzed past us moving so fast we could hardly see it?
Yes; that was the case here this year. August was FULL of meaningful posts. It is that time of year that we are getting ready for The Fall Holy Days and during the month of Elul we posted MANY articles about the transformation process that we are all going through in the time of waiting on those days to arrive.
AUGUST 2021 REVIEW
OUR NEW FEATURE PAGE – THE ALL MY DAYS INTERACTIVE CALENDAR
It should be very obvious by now that our desire and the main goal of all this blogging is to be a tool for living out God’s ways in all of our days here on earth. One way to be sure we stay on target is to follow the Hebraic Calendar and keep God’s daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual appointments.
This seems overwhelming to some people when they first discover that God has kept a calendar since creation. He isn’t keeping it just for himself; but it was a gift that he gave to us to help us stay closer to him as we journey through each year of our lives. This blog has previously been full of articles on such things; but we think we’ve found a way to make all of it much easier for you.
Just check out our ALL MY DAYS CALENDAR tab on the menu and at the top tabs of the blog each day and scroll down to the current secular calendar date that we are living through in this world. You will find a corresponding date that relates to the Hebraic way of telling time (God’s way;) and it will have a link to an appropriate Hebraic calendar devotion for each day of the year. The Annual Holy Days of God will be full of many links that you can review at your leisure each time we come upon that season.
So easy!
You are going to love using this great new tool in this blog. Of course new articles will still be featured on our pages and in the SEASONS topics as always.
In August we featured a daily devotion/meditation for every day of Elul. I hope you enjoyed each one.
This process will be on-going for the whole Hebraic calendar for the new up-coming Hebraic year. The civil year of the Hebrew thinking-people begins in the Hebraic month called Tishrei, on the first day of Tishrei which is also known as The Feast of Trumpets, both for Christians and the Jewish people (they call it Rosh Hashanah.) Christians have a fuller meaning because they recognize that Christ has come, died, rose from the grave and ascended into heaven where he is waiting to come back for His Bride; the Church. Could He return on The Feast of Trumpets? Only God can tell us; and He is waiting on the perfect moment; as usual.
The Feast of Trumpets will be featured in our ALL MY DAYS CALENDAR during SEPTEMBER, beginning with Tishrei 1 (The Feast of Trumpets.) We will also explore the ten days of Awe – from Trumpets to The Day of Atonement, and then we will also feature the days leading up to The Feast of Tabernacles; so keep a close daily check on the ALL MY DAYS CALENDAR section of the blog for Tishrei/SEPTEMBER. You just thought it was full in August!
SEASONS
As the above tells you; August was FULL of devotions for Elul and articles about The Feast of Trumpets; which would come up next. You can find the links to the Elul devotions still posted in THE ALL MY DAYS CALENDAR PAGE at the top of the blog in the ALL MY DAYS MENU.
Not familiar with celebrating the month of Elul? Here is an article we published in August that explains the process: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/loving-the-month-of-elul-seasons/
We have summarized the Feast of Trumpets articles we posted here for you to review whenever you desire: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/the-rams-horn-rosh-hashanah-meditations-meditation-2-seasons/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/first-day-of-forever-short-meditations-for-the-feast-of-trumpets-meditation-no-1-seasons/https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/feast-of-trumpets-2017-rosh-hashanah-from-a-christian-perspective-seasons/.
MONDAY NIGHT MENUS
Although football could fall under our Fall SEASONS topics too; we posted some great recipes for football gatherings under MONDAY NIGHT MENUS. If you missed that; here is the link: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/football-recipes/.
And since it is time for “back to school” we also posted some delicious “after school” snack ideas: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/back-to-school-snacks/.
COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY
We gave you four interesting COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY LESSONS in August. If you missed any of them; here are the links: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/two-mountains-and-a-deep-well/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/remember-the-firstfruits-offerings/, https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/remember-the-amalekites/https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/be-honest-and-truthful/, We are making progress and headed toward the end of Deuteronomy, still moving page-by-page and word-by-word slowly and taking our time. Our aim is to consider all of these pages of our bibles together from cover to cover with the eyes of a child just seeking to know all of the wonderful things that their Father can teach them about life. These posts go out every Thursday. If you want to invite friends to join us; now is a good time. It will not be too long before we begin The Book of Joshua.
I am hoping to compile a summary of our Exodus study into a publication soon. Keep reading the blog to know when this project is complete. It is so much easier to have each lesson compiled into a book.
There is also a lot of work going into a Workbook to use with The Gospel Hidden in Genesis Books One and Two. Many small groups are buying both books and wanting to use a workbook for discussion. Keep watching for the publication coming out soon. If you haven’t read Book Two of Two from The Gospel Hidden in Genesis yet; now is a great time to get caught up; before the Exodus book arrives.
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO
In August we told you our story of Grandparents Camp. There were several interesting places that we shared with the grandkids that week. What a joy!
If you haven’t tried Grandparent’s Camp with your grands we highly recommend that you stop wasting time and get with the program!
The whole week was absolutely delightful!
