Wow!
How could it be that we are already headed for the middle of October?
Where did September go anyway?
SEPTEMBER HAS TIP-TOED AWAY
School days seem to be routine by now. Daily life is filling with fall activities like football and fall festivals and family gatherings.
Moms and Dads and grandparents all across this land have been busy keeping kids and grand-kids busy. I truly think that we all want our schedules to slow down a bit so that we can enjoy the magic of fall, even though our weather isn’t quite as cool as we would like by now.
If you hail from Alabama (as we do here) you might be thinking that all of the dry weather is going to make those long-anticipated fall leaves go from green to brown overnight. This might not be the most spectacular color show because of the drought; but let’s keep hoping. There is still time for rain and anything could happen; right?
LET’S TRY TO SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THIS SEASON
Fall is a great time to think about moving slower and becoming unhurried. We don’t want to be in such a rush that we miss it’s blessings!
How many of you out there are even thinking it might be a good season in which to retire?
The IN SEASON Lifestyle is planning on a few new articles to weigh the pros and cons of modern-day retirement. Maybe it is a lot more like modern-day transition…..you will have to read the articles that are probably going to show up late October – early November. We hope they help you in deciding whether to take that leap now or later.
As sort of a companion to those articles; we want to feature some articles about health after age 60, so if you are getting there – stay with us. The presses are moving slow; but there will be some interesting articles late fall/early winter for sure.
Still under thirty? Don’t worry – we have some lovely articles for you coming up too! They will be surprises though; I’m not even going to give you a clue – just keep reading. We haven’t forgotten you younger chickens!
ELUL WAS LOVELY AND REFRESHING
September held lots of loveliness of which we will not soon forget.
I hope every subscriber to our mailing list enjoyed the preview that gave you a little taste of even more upcoming seasonal publications like the Elul Meditations Workbook which we sent out to our subscribers last month.
Are you on our mailing list yet?
All you have to do is request to be on it by sending us your email, along with your first and last name and we will get you started. Each month you will get the Newsletter and the Community Store items in a separate publication as well as some free treats and gifts as upcoming previews are available of what we will be offering for sale to others in the future. It is well worth your time to sign up; so what are you waiting for?
If you have trouble finding a sign up place (forms are scattered all through the blog pages) just go here:https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/home/blog/contact-us/. We LOVE new community members and our little community of Christian Hebraic thinkers is steadily growing.
Wasn’t Elul especially eye-opening this year?
THE FALL HOLY DAYS HAVE BEEN AMAZING SO FAR
The Feast of Trumpets and the Days of Awe have all been observed here too. We are now approaching The Day of Atonement. Did you catch our article on why we fast on this day?
God is always teaching us something new. Isn’t it nice to have a community interested in these same subjects to share with?
God has blessed us so much!
THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES
We are now looking forward to The Feast of Tabernacles!
This will be our favorite focus for October. I hope you and your family have your plans all set.
Our plans got changed because of my husband’s unexpected heart surgery. He will not be able to travel this year. We’ve accepted that God just wants us to be home this time; but we will be observing the days as a family for sure. The materials for building our sukkah in the yard are sitting there ready to use! (Hope you caught our article on Sukkah Building too.)
Our original plan was to go back to our beloved spot in Montreat this year – but everyone is now happily gathering at our home and we are going to feast and rejoice in spite of our troubles.
Of course we will be offering up lots of thanks for my husband’s slow but good recovery; and we will be looking forward to all that this season of joy has to offer us!
When we can make it to our “holiday house” as my grand-daughter and I call it; we like to enjoy a little apple-picking excursion; but this year we will have another similar type of harvest festival in the line-up of places for everyone to visit in the afternoons after our storytelling times.
It will be a Christian place for sure – no ghosts or evil goblins are going to greet us during our feast!
Speaking of such terrifying subjects – don’t forget to catch our series on the things to consider about the holiday the world calls Halloween. There are several articles on this subject in a series in the blog.
You probably can guess how we feel already; but read the articles just to get a fresh new perspective on this old well-worn subject.
October is going to be full of many surprises.
Of course you can always look forward to THE COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY that we post every Thursday. We are all the way up to Numbers, Chapter 10 as I write this newsletter. Please come join in with us!
We still have some great books to review. They have been read, but the reviews have to hit the press next – maybe they will happen in October!
There will be many other October blessings!
We can’t wait to bring them to you.
See you at the blog!
Wishing you and your family a blessed Feast of Tabernacles and hoping that God grants you much joy and wonderful family times together!
