SHARING THE BLESSINGS FROM FRIENDS WHO WRITE
I have been blessed with lots of friends who are writers. I love to share their stories.
One of the best is my friend Vona B. Elkins who wrote “RUTH, THE WOMAN WHO FOUND ROMANCE IN A BARLEY FIELD.“
Vona’s book would make an excellent small group study book for your next bible study. Her book is one you can trust to be biblically correct and accurate; and her writing will definitely pull at your heart strings. She has done an excellent job of portraying the amazing life of God’s servant named Ruth.
The way this story is written will make you feel as if you are right there with Ruth; going through all the ups and downs of life. She has a lot of circumstances to deal with; and she had many HUGE decisions to make. Her choices were what saved her. She chose the God of her mother-in-law; and that choice completely changed the destiny of her days.
I plan to give this beautifully illustrated book for gifts to all of my friends. So many of them are in places that relate directly to the journey that God revealed to Ruth. If God can help a foreigner in Israel who is gathering barley to survive and thrive; He can surely help the women living in today’s world too.
I highly recommend a day of curling up by the fireplace to enjoy the richness of this story. Add a good flavored coffee while you are reading and ponder the ageless situations presented which are so ancient yet so current.
I’ve read the story twice now and will probably re-read it again before the fall season ends. It is a wonderful book to put at the top your list for good reads this fall and winter!
I promise it will bring your heart into a “thankful” and “harvest” mood just before Thanksgiving!
Of course if you want some more storytelling of the Old Testament; there is always my own book titled “The Gospel Hidden in Genesis (Books 1 and 2.)” These too would make for great Fall reading.
Why not order both to have them ready in time for fireplace weather and gift-giving season?
Happy reading!
