Don’t you just love fall?
The beautiful season is about to be in full blaze and The IN SEASON Lifestyle has a few fun contests to offer in its honor. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATES FOR THIS CONTEST HAVE BEEN REVISED. You still have time to get those entries in!
WE LOVE SHORT STORIES
We especially love short stories that bring out the flavor of the seasons, so today we are announcing our FALL SHORT STORY CONTEST.
REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER
We are only accepting electronic submittals.
All short story submittals should have a word count of under 3000 words.
The stories should be double spaced with one inch margins for sides, top and bottom.
Submittals should arrive in PDF formatted Word documents.
The writer will retain complete ownership of their story; but also give publication rights to The IN SEASON Lifestyle and WordCastle Publications LLC.
The events of the story should take place in a fall setting and extra attention will be given when judging to how the author presents the season in the story.
Please include a separate page attachment with your name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number. (This page will be removed and presented to unbiased judges who will pick the winner.)
Send the stories in an electronic e-mail submission to wordcastlepublications@gmail.com.
Please also include a short bio telling us about yourself and why you love the season of fall in a separate document.
THE WINNER
The winner of this short story contest will receive $50 and be published in our October PEN ART blog column at the end of October.
DEADLINE
Deadline for submittals WAS October 15, 2017. I do not feel we have enough submittals yet; therefore the new deadline for these submittals is changed to November 1, 2017.
The Winner WAS to be announced on October 25, 2017; but that date has now been moved to November 10th. Please decide to submit to this contest; it will be fun! Small contests like this also give you more chances for winning and a great chance to be the one who is published. So start writing that short story! The changing of the leaves should have you inspired by now!
START WRITING NOW!
So put your thinking cap on and think of your favorite fall events and start forming a short story around those Fall events.
We can’t wait to hear what fall tales you have to tell!
