The time has come for us to say goodbye to Moses. Not only are we studying the end of the life of Moses; but today’s lesson will be the last lesson in our Deuteronomy Bible Study.
What an amazing life Moses lived!
Also; what an amazing journey we have traveled through the scriptures together so far!
CONTINUED STUDY ON THURSDAYS
We will keep trekking through the bible with the heart of a child though; so our Thursday, once-a-week bible study post will begin with the book of Joshua on Thursday; June 9, 2022.
Don’t forget to check our posts on that day. The next study will be amazing. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.
Those who are following our once-a-week study every Thursday are slowly making their way through the whole bible. We are having so much fun and learning so many new things!
If you haven’t joined us in the past; now would be a perfect time to get on our once-a-week COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY mailing list. Just sign the forms presented at the top of the blog.
Many have asked if our Deuteronomy study will be published in summary form (such as we did with Genesis in The Gospel Hidden in Genesis Books (1 and 2.) That is the plan.
I’m excited to tell you that we are soon going to launch our new book on Exodus. After that we plan to publish our studies on Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These will be worth the wait. We will keep you posted on publication dates so that you can build your collection of our daily bible study materials. All of our books will be featured on Amazon and each month in our The IN SEASON Community Stores.
THE DAY THAT MOSES DIED
If you are like me; you will have a very hard time leaving Moses and all of his amazing adventures. In the realm of human heroes; he has to top the list.
Deuteronomy 34 tells us a few of the details concerning his death.
Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab and reached the top of Pisgah. While he gazed down from that mountain The Lord showed him the whole land of Israel. This was the land God had promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob’s descendants.
Moses was allowed to see the land; but he was not allowed to cross over.
After this mountaintop experience, Moses returned to Moab and died. The scriptures say that God buried Moses in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but no one has ever located the grave.
Moses was 120 years old when he died. Until he took his last breath, he had enjoyed good health with keen eyesight and tremendous body strength and stamina.
When the Israelites learned of the death of Moses they grieved. Their grief poured forth for 30 days and nights. They were probably concerned about their great leader leaving them; but he had appointed Joshua to carry on after his death. Moses had laid hands on Joshua and imparted his wisdom unto him Seeing this the Israelites had great respect for Joshua and listened to and followed him as Moses had requested.
There has never been another prophet like Moses, one whom the Lord has known face-to-face. No one has ever done as many signs and wonders of the Lord as Moses. His people missed him, loved him, and never forgot him.
