For omer count – day 46 we are considering the majesty in dignity as we examine malchut. We consider the attributes of netzach with malchut, or the endurance of sovereignty.
ENDURANCE WITH DIGNITY
What you are doing this moment is an exercise in endurance. Therefore, it is not just ordinary endurance, but it is endurance in order to move closer to God. Every omer count is like a prayer asking God to pull us closer to His Presence. It is only the sovereignty of God that makes our ordinary human endurances become majestic and dignified.
OMER COUNT – DAY 46 HELPS TO WRITE OUR STORIES
Counting the omer is helping us to write the stories of our lives by remembering how to make every day count towards something valuable for God’s Kingdom. So, this seventh week focuses on The Divine Presence and how it majestically intersects our days.
This important process comes about by patient endurance. Every day as we count, we wait on God’s Presence. It is a goal to master our endurance in such a way that it will always patiently wait on God. Such patient endurance helps us to know and experience what God has in store for each of us within His Kingdom. Time brings us to the purpose for which God intended.
COMING CLOSER AS WE WAIT ON OMER COUNT – DAY 46
As the preciousness of our time passes in this season of counting our days, what have we taken in? Are we ready for God’s Holy Spirit to move us closer and higher to the goals God has in store for us? What have we learned that will endure and help God’s Kingdom to flourish and live forever? Are we focusing on those things?
WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?
Hence, whenever we ponder these things concerning time, many think of this song by Eva Cassidy: https://youtu.be/s_5rjM10Chs?si=IX960h9zNzxNJpaV. The lyrics which speak of not knowing where the time goes, keep us alert to cherish each passing moment.
Our time is our gift from God. He gave this gift to us on the day He created us. God brought our time into being on the fourth day of creation. We are wanted. Our days are all anticipated ahead of time. God made us to be part of His master plan. On the sixth day, after He created us, God gave time to mankind.
Our great gift of time became our way back to entering His Presence. This temporary thing called “time” was a way to know God as we had once known Him in the Garden of Eden. To master our time is to master the way to eliminate our sins and return to holiness. Amazingly, Jesus lived and died in order to show us this way. He is our example to follow.
TREASURING THE GIFT
The lyrics of the song remind us that we often tend to lose track of this amazing gift of time. However, when it is too late, we look back and wonder what happened. It is hoped, as we sit under the Divine Presence of God more and more, that we allow His sovereignty to direct us. Accordingly, we must allow Him to help us to master each new season of life. Furthermore, this mastering must take place in a way that every moment can be of value and worth. Sitting in His Presence restores us from any regrets.
Life is such a precious gift. It must be lived to the fullest. Not one moment should ever be wasted. Here is a message from Dr. Hollisa Alewine which might help us to keep our proper focus as we near the end of this counting and approach Pentecost.https://youtu.be/ZvyLh-HTvOA?si=Z4MVfWulvWBMV5e9. She is reminding us that we can use this season to move forward in our relationships with God and others. Mastering this God-given gift of time is a lot like learning to walk on water.
