OCTOBER 2022 ARTICLES AND MONTHLY REVIEW

Here it is already time for The IN SEASON Lifestyle Newsletter for October 2022. How could that be possible?

THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES 2022

My first question to our readers today:

Did you all enjoy your Feast of Tabernacles?

Wasn’t it wonderful having family time with Our Father?

My family and I were feasting on the North/South Carolina line near Brevard N.C, in a beautiful little area called Slater-Marietta, S.C.

Twelve of us were together inside a lovely Blue Ridge Mountain home. Our son and his girlfriend were not able to join us this year. We missed them.

Still we had a wonderful time. Our place REALLY felt like a heavenly mansion. The home were we stayed spared no creature comforts. It reminded me of a royal castle. I’m sure this place was as close to heaven as we could get at the moment.

My husband and I spent the first half of the time in Black Mountain/Montreat, N.C. (our favorite place on the map.) Half-way through our time we joined the extended family in Marietta.

I’m still breathless every time I think of the beauty of both areas.

The fall foliage was at its peek in both of these little Blue Ridge mountain towns. I’m already longing to go back. God painted the mountains in blazing colors.

What a pleasure it was to me to get to tell Godly Play stories three times a day with our amazing and fast-growing grands. I have written a Godly Play story for each of the 8 Feast Days. We enjoyed remembering and pondering Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David and last but the greatest – Jesus. I made kits to tell these stories and perhaps we might sell some of them at a later date. The children all loved them; even those who were grown!

I have one grandson who was quite concerned that Jesus’s story came last. He thought it should have been first. I comforted him by telling him Jesus is hiding in all of the first seven stories; you just have to know that He is there. That came out in our last story too. He was happy then.

The youngest one is so delighted to play with the toys and make up his own stories with them. I can tell that the years and years of repeating several of these old testament stories to the two oldest is now becoming fruitful. Their eyes are opening up to so many things they were not sure of, or didn’t notice before.

If you use the Godly Play method and let God do the work of interpreting to each person, and just tell the stories in a simple, plain manner; they have deep layers of meanings and understandings for all ages.

The adults didn’t mind using these for our program for everyone this year. I was telling stories to all the grown ups too.

I’ve made a lot of our materials/toys used in the stories. Also; many have been bought from Godly Play too. Our collection keeps growing each year.

One daughter brought up the fact that I should put who gets what story materials into my will because she wants to know who is going to inherit certain ones.

Funny how that question tied right in with the stories of Abraham and how God promised to bless his descendants. I told her the stories would be divided between the four grands so that they could pass them on to their children and grandchildren.

If you want to know what stories we used; you can purchase my book called GOLDEN TALES FOR RAINY DAYS. All eight stories are in the fall section of that book. The paperback is now available on Amazon.com. I’m working hard to get a new hardback edition available. Soon! My grands need a special hardback copy too.

I know some of you are planning on purchasing the book for Christmas presents. I’m trying to get the hardback published and out there before Thanksgiving.

It is just that the month of October was unbelievably BUSY. Forgive me and be patient. I did manage to publish CHRISTIAN MEDITATIONS FOR THE DAYS OF AWE just before those days actually happened this year. If you go ahead and order from Amazon now; you will have your copy waiting by The Days of Awe next year. I think you will enjoy this edition very much; especially if you love daily and seasonal devotionals. You know I do!

I’m scattering this month’s newsletter with photos of our Feast of Tabernacles Celebration. We are still giving thanks to God for the refreshing and restorative blessings that we enjoyed. I would love to see your photos too! If any of you want to share with our blog; just send them to wordcastlepublications@gmail.com.

I can’t wait until this annual rehearsal turns into reality. We will get to physically SEE Jesus with our own eyes as we celebrate the feast. Our joy will continue to overflow and never end.

SEASONS

You KNOW how much we love Thanksgiving. Our November blog will be featuring a million ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. We have all of the recipes, the seasonal decorating themes and the past memories from so many years of Thanksgiving celebrations. We hope to feature some very “thankful” Psalms. You are bound to enjoy all of these seasonal features; so stay with us.

This year we are especially thankful because we get to officially announce the marriage of our daughter to one of the most wonderful guys on earth. They planned a lovely wedding celebration during November. We were so happy to celebrate the occasion with them. Come and share a very small portion of their wedding celebration party with us. Fell free to join in with all the well wishes they certainly deserve. This November we will be offering a special blessing prayer upon their marriage and the rest of their life together.

COME AS A CHILD BIBLE STUDY

The Joshua Study is going very well. We have encountered so many new areas to discuss. Funny how they all seem to blend with the seasons we are in too. God’s timing has been just perfect with these weekly lessons. Stay tuned for more of the same.

Your suggestions and comments are always warmly welcomed.

THE HOUSE DOCTOR

This Topic will feature some of our past Fall and Thanksgiving themes in decorating. Are you there yet? This author’s house has stayed one color theme for a solid year. I’m not sure HOW that happened but this year we will be exploring more of the glorious greens that blend with the colors of fall. I think you will love them.

OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO

Fall is the very best month for travel adventures in my opinion. The blog wants to feature some of the fun places we encountered in a little town called Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina this November. For such a small town; it offered so many great places to visit. We will be sharing those and perhaps a few more small-town Fall features.

PEN ART

The poetry of Fall seems to be calling to us. We have also enjoyed the art of photography this colorful season. So; grab your camera and bring your words and come along with us. You never know where we might show up but November promises to offer lovely scenery and beautiful phrases. We hope to be sharing them with you as we go along.

MONDAY NIGHT MENUS

Lately we were blessed with some amazing visitors from Trinadad. They just happened to be vegetarians; so I wanted to cook accordingly. As so often happens, I got carried away with new ideas and began developing a new cookbook. All of the recipes are vegetarian main dishes and sides. To offset the very healthy offerings though we finished out the book with some of our tastiest dessert recipes. We are calling this one THE IN SEASON LIFESTYLE VEGETARIAN COOKBOOK FOR 2022. It isn’t ready for publication yet; but it will be soon. In the meantime our readers are going to enjoy previewing these tasty new dishes all through November. Don’t miss them; especially if your Thanksgiving crowd is full of vegetarians.

GROW OLD WITH ME

Hopefully; in November we will get back around to offering some new articles that deal with the ins and outs of retirement. None of us are getting any younger. The landscape of retirement planning is getting a bit fuzzy in light of our nation’s economy though. Maybe we can work on finding some solutions and suggestions together. We will try to squeeze a few of these articles into our November offerings too.

PRODUCTS

The author of the blog has been so busy! We now have four publications under our belts. Now we are working on several more publications to offer just as fast as our fingers will type. Here are the books we have for sale so far. Go ahead and put them down for gift suggestions for all of your friends and family for Christmas and Hanukkah this year. It is so easy to shop on-line now. No more crowds to contend with. More time for reading!

What else is new?

Well; I’m composing a publication called IS IT PAGAN? There seems to be so much confusion for the Church in this area. Generations have not been taught the difference between pagan and Christian concepts. I want to get that out before next October when we begin our annual onslaught of Fall and Winter pagan celebrations in this country. Pray that I can gather the material and get the publication underway before this month ends. Portions of the articles will be blogged; so you will get a good preview of that publication before it hits the presses.

We are also working on the vegetarian cookbook I mentioned in the above section for MONDAY NIGHT MENUS. Perhaps it will hit the press in late November/early December too.

There is so much going on as we pass through November and head for December of 2022.

I hope you are as excited as we are about all of the fun that will be coming up in November. Until then keep living upside down and inside out – just like Jesus!

God bless you everyone;
