Have you been following our weekly bible study called COME AS A CHILD?

If not; you are missing out on some amazing teachings. We invite you to join us here on the blog every Thursday for an on-going, page-by-page walk through the bible.

Today is simply a little background information on the study. All are invited.

GENESIS

Our study started with Genesis several years ago. The goal was to approach the bible with an unhindered mind of a child seeking to know their Father better. We threw out all preconceived notions and teachings from the past and took a deep breath and started over.

The author is not a preacher or a divinity expert – just a common, every-day lay-person who loves Jesus and wants to share Him with everyone she knows.

Because of her love for Jesus, most of these teachings have a Christian/Hebraic slant. She never forgets that the earthly Jesus was Jewish, and the teachings incorporate his Jewish lifestyle into our modern-day Christian lifestyle.

We aren’t Christians trying to become Jewish here; it is the other way around. We are followers of Jesus simply trying to imitate His ways in our own lives. Because we know Him, we do understand that we have now been grafted into that beautiful old Olive Tree called Israel. All native and adopted sons are welcomed to participate in this study. Everyone is welcomed here.

This unique perspective typically takes us on a different adventure every day!

IN SEASON LIVING

If Jesus said it – we believe it.

Also; if Jesus did it – we want to do it too!

The IN SEASON lifestyle is heavily promoted here.

The whole concept evolves around 2 Timothy 4:2.  Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

We want to teach and live the gospel in all seasons of our lives; being ready in each moment for whatever God is doing here on earth. These are the things that this on-going bible study wants to encourage and promote.

A KINGDOM OF GOD LIFESTYLE

More has been added to this concept of “in season” living over the years because of the teachings we have explored together.

We are following no particular denominational group here; simply listening to God together and sharing our messages. Our group is steadily growing and now reaches at least 106 people every week.

We are currently putting a heavy focus on the fact that all followers of Christ have been given the ability to live out their days in the same way that we would be living if we were already physically living in The Kingdom of Heaven.

If we belong to Jesus; anywhere we are can be a part of God’s Kingdom. All we have to do is believe, trust and live it out. God does all the rest.

Living in the Kingdom to the best of our ability now (which is only possible with the help of Jesus Christ, the Holy Scriptures, strong prayers and communications with God and strength from God’s Holy Spirit) means that when we leave this earth, eternity will simply be a continuation of the purpose and destinies God has already revealed to each of us here on earth. We believe in the millennial reign for 1000 years on this earth where we will continue to work for God’s Kingdom every day.

EXODUS

Our study progressed through The Book of Exodus a few years ago. That study was deep and revealing.

As this article is being written; the author and teacher is editing the notes from our Exodus study to publish in book format. She is also finishing up some workbooks to go along with small group studies of groups reading Books 1 and 2 of The Gospel Hidden in Genesis, which has already been published. There will be the same type of workbook for The Book of Exodus publications.

NUMBERS AND LEVITICUS

Our previous study of Numbers and Leviticus can be found, lesson by lesson, within the articles of this blog. If you missed them; there will eventually be the publication of a summary along with study workbooks for that study too. We will let you know when they come out.

DEUTERONOMY

Our most recent study was on the Book of Deuteronomy. Those lessons will eventually be compiled into book form too.

By finishing the Deuteronomy study we have completed all of the books of The Torah together!

I found the timing of our finished studies on Deuteronomy to be very interesting. We had our last lesson from the Torah portion of our bible right before Pentecost!

BEGINNING THE BOOK OF JOSHUA

Now we are going to move on to Joshua!

Before we do though, I want to compile all of the lessons we have completed that were very significant in the life of Moses. Our last lesson covered his death; but it is his life that reveals so much of God’s truths to us. I can’t let that go by without a tribute to such a great leader. Expect that post to come out soon.

We now invite you to come join us in the study of The Book of Joshua.

Get out your bible and read through the chapters of Joshua as a beginning first step. Get ready for some details! There are so many wonderful teachings and life-lessons here.

This will be a great, eye-opening study. A lot of our focus will be on spiritual warfare. We will be keeping our perspective and approach of coming into God’s stories with the eyes of a child first hearing the truth; but we will also be approaching with the heart of a warrior. We’ve grown close enough to God from our Torah studies to know that there is a battle raging and we must learn how He wants us to fight for The Kingdom of God.

You will find great helps for surviving in the world we are living in today in the modern-times.

Evil is rampant; but we serve a Great God. He will give us the strength to overcome and to move forward as we continue to walk the Kingdom walk through the eyes of yet another great leader called Joshua.

See you there every Thursday beginning on our official starting date of July 7th. Invite your friends and neighbors and plan your group’s gatherings. Sign up for our study’s weekly mailings directly into your e-mail if you have not yet done so. That way you will never miss a lesson. We’ve allowed a little extra time to get ready as we post a few of our favorite review lessons and our tributes to Moses up until that date.

Looking forward to Thursday, July 7th at theinseasonlifestyle.com!
