WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Maybe you are asking yourself; so what do Christian people do on the day of Rosh Hashanah (The Feast of Trumpets) when they decide to follow the scripture passage of Leviticus 23:24-25 and keep the Feast of Trumpets as a Holy Day?
Good question!
We are so glad to share some of that information here in a simple way that even a child can understand.
Each of our meditations for the season will only cover one tiny piece of the whole puzzle for understanding God’s awesome Holy Days; but this is how we learn. By taking one piece and adding it to what we already know. One piece adds to the next piece and soon you have put together the whole puzzle and have a complete and lovely picture!
There are SO MANY segmented things to consider about this very unique and unusual day that we call The Feast of Trumpets.
Today we will talk about the fact that this day called Rosh Hashanah by some, and The Feast of Trumpets by others, is also known by many as a Coronation Day.
IT IS A CORONATION DAY
The Day is considered to be a prophetic day by most Christians; one in which they anxiously wait to see if Christ will return for the second time and be crowned The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords, as the prophets have all predicted.
Many people think this very thing could happen on one of the future days when we come to observe Rosh Hashanah/The Feast of Trumpets.
It COULD happen on this day; but ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS for sure.
So we wait and we watch and we hope and we anticipate.
Could this be the day?
When you hear certain blasts on the shofar; do they not remind you of the trumpets played as a new King is entering the courts of the palace?
This certain sound is the summons for everyone to listen up and pay attention and realize that royalty is approaching.
They should not be surprised or caught off-guard!
They should all be on their best behavior because they are soon to be in the presence of the newly crowned King of the Universe!
LESSONS FROM MY GRANDDAUGHTER
I love it when I get to watch “Frozen” over and over again, for the millionth time with my little granddaughter.
She gets so excited when Elsa has her Coronation Day!
Have you ever listened to the words of that song…..I mean REALLY?
Giving all credit where credit is due to the Disney producers and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez who wrote the great lyrics of this children’s song; it is quite amazing when you think of the lyrics that Anna sings here and imagine what the second coming of Christ might be like.
The popular lyrics go like this; “For the first time in forever there’ll be music, there’ll be light – For the first time in forever, I’ll be dancing through the night.”
They continue on to say: “I can’t wait to meet everyone (gasp), what if I meet…..THE ONE?”
Are you getting the picture here?
Does this little children’s song not remind you of the future of The Bride of Christ (the Church?)
IT IS THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS – ARE YOU LISTENING?
I know we are all listening for the very important sounds of the shofar; of course we are!
Also, I would suggest that everyone should listen to those “Frozen” song lyrics a lot closer too. God speaks in many ways. Any child who has listened to these words can tell you all about how special a coronation day can be.
Since “Frozen” I’ve been fascinated to know how young girls all over the world can grasp and totally understand this symbolism that represents “coronation” on Rosh Hashanah. We have Disney to thank for that. (I’ll have to stop being so hard on them for some of the other things we don’t have them to thank for.)
Most of these little girls can’t even read the holy scriptures yet; but because they have watched “Frozen” they have the whole concept and will totally understand what is happening at a coronation; even better than most faithful adult church goers!
Funny, but true; thanks to the producers of “Frozen.” I highly doubt that anyone working in this production crew had an inkling of what some of this symbolism might suggest to many of us who are in the habit of keeping God’s Holy Days.
Has anyone else noticed the similarities here?
Perhaps I’m very wrong and many of the Disney crew were actually simply remembering what they knew about “coronation day” because their parents were all Jewish and they observed Rosh Hashanah faithfully as children; causing it all to just spill right over into this movie screen straight from all of their innocent hearts from childhood.
I truly doubt it; but who knows?
GOD WILL USE WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET OUR ATTENTION
Also; does that even matter?
God will use whatever God decides to use to make a point sometimes, even a silly, childish Disney movie!
If you don’t believe this; try reading The Oracle by Jonathan Cahn. You might finally be convinced that God has His fingerprints all over the history of humanity; whether we humans realize what is going on or not.
Maybe one day I’ll do a little more research on that question about the Disney lyric writers; but right now I’m simply pointing out how God can speak to us in a million different ways and use a million different types of vehicles to achieve the process.
It is quite amazing!
I find this happens to me a lot during the Holy Days.
THE TRUTH OF GOD SPEAKS OUT THROUGH ALL THINGS CREATED
If you watch for them, the facts of such things will always jump out in front of your eyes in just the times when you need an understanding. The truth of God will speak to you in every little thing that you do when God is ready to get your attention.
Life is nothing but an ongoing learning experience for most of us.
These little girls of today will quickly tell you that a coronation is the day that the whole Kingdom recognizes when one of the next generation of their kingdom’s rulers has come of age.
They will note that special day is the first day that the new ruler begins to take their rightful place and officially rule the Kingdom.
They get it!
THE KINGDOM GETS TO CELEBRATE
With lots of giggles and laughter they would also probably point out the fact that the whole Kingdom gets to celebrate the very special day (so different from any other day) by crowning the new ruler who has just come of age by throwing a wonderful dinner party with lots of cake and singing and dancing.
And of course; chocolate!
They would probably also tell you that the newly crowned person should make a speech and accept the responsibilities for the welfare of the Kingdom in front of the whole wide world.
Suddenly all the Kingdom will stand in awe of their newly recognized ruler in charge.
Why?
Because……
IT IS THE FIRST DAY OF FOREVER!
Well, that is how it works in “Frozen” and that is actually a lot how it will be when Christ returns to earth again.
The prophets of old have proclaimed the truth of this prophecy for ages and ages.
Christ will rule the Kingdoms of this earth at the time of the Millennial Reign of Christ.
What a GREAT DAY that will be.
It is a Coronation Day that His followers can look forward to with great expectation.
THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS IS A CORONATION DAY
This is one of the things we recognize on the Feast of Trumpets.
There is one big difference here though; NOTHING about this Coronation Day is a fairy tale.
Jesus is going to return for His people and He is coming in truth and love.
He is coming with the armies of Heaven and He will change everything.
It truly will be the first day of forever!
