SAYING GOODBYE TO THE MONTH OF LOVE
SAYING HELLO TO MARCH
This month The IN SEASON Lifestyle says “hello” to the month of March.
If you thought February was a full month; just wait until we live into March!
So much will be happening and all of it is good.
COME AS A CHILD will be continuing the ongoing Thursday bible studies. We will be sharing some fresh new insights each week. God’s timing in these lessons will be amazing. That should not surprise us though; His timing always comes along just as needed. I love being on HIS calendar instead of the world’s.
The SEASONS section of the blog will bring news on the history of St. Patrick’s Day and why or why not we should be celebrating this time. Some people will still be observing Lent. We will have a few more articles on that subject. There will just be a short snippet of time before we begin to travel into some very significant Holy Days. God’s Spring Holy Days fall in March of this year, and The IN SEASON Lifestyle has lots of good news to share about Passover, Unleavened Bread, Early Firstfruits and The Resurrection of Christ.
The highest emphasis will be put on the Spring Holy Days of this month.
Right in the midst of all the excitement and special days comes the official arrival of Spring. Is it wrong to use all the bunnies and eggs that are so prevalent in the spring? We will be discussing this subject in March in the PIECES OF THE PUZZLE.
Aren’t you glad we began the process of de-cluttering our homes back in February? We will continue to consider the health benefits of this task in AN APPLE A DAY during the month of March. This productive activity also ties right in with all the spring cleaning required in our season of observing the Seven Days of Unleavened Bread. Have you begun to de-leaven your home? Having all that clutter out of the way is going to help a lot as you complete this seasonal task. It isn’t all physical housekeeping; we will be looking at the spiritual side of the season too.
Be sure to check out the PRODUCTS we are sponsoring in March. Many of them will give you ideas for finding supplies and decor for the Passover, Unleavened Bread, Early Firstfruits and the celebration of the Resurrection. If you are looking for fun spring crafts, activities and toys for your grankids; you might find a few of those also. We have abundant book ideas to fill your reading time. Just so you can get a head start on your ordering before the days arrive; we have included a few of the featured products for Spring at the end of this newsletter. Each new article will contain spring product ideas that you will love. At some point we will feature our March IN SEASON Lifestyle’s Family Tree. Once again; I think you will be pleasantly surprised. It will not be the typical colored eggs or shamrocks since we’ve already done those in the past. Think yellow and white….(that is all I’m going to say.)
THE HOUSE DOCTOR will be showing off some pretty new spring green decor this season. The abundant greenery of the spring season will work well with our decorating for the Passover Seder and Resurrection Day celebrations. We may have an article or two on preparing your home as you decorate for the Passover Seder.
Of course MONDAY MENUS will have a few Passover recipes to share. Don’t worry; we won’t forget to include your favorite St. Patrick Day recipes.
We did a lot of traveling back in February in the OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO section of the blog; but there is still some more travel in store for March. We know the perfect little town for you to spend a very authentic St. Patrick’s Day. We hope to feature more than one travel destination this month.
Though some March events are shaping up to be very exciting and busy; we also hope you find time for peace and rest during the Spring Holy Days.
The IN SEASON Lifestyle is planning on throwing in a few surprises just for your reading fun. We can’t tell you about those things yet because that would ruin our surprises – just keep reading!
Do you know the most important thing of all about March????
Celebrating Resurrection!
I hope your joy is full and that you will stop and take time out with your family to thank our Savior Jesus Christ for the gift of eternal life that He has provided for each of us.
Almost every March article will contain some type of thought that relates back to the Resurrection of Jesus. We will spend a lot of time just sharing this joy together.
I feel positive that the month of March will end on a very happy note this year.
FAREWELL GOOD FEBRUARY
We did so much living in February!
Sometimes I wonder how we managed to squeeze it all in.
Overall; February was pretty amazing. Here are some of the links to any of The IN SEASON Lifestyle blog posts you might have missed in February.
COME AS A CHILD: This Thursday, ongoing, on-line bible study finished the Book of Exodus and began studying the book of Leviticus!
How awesome is that?
We’ve only been at this bible study for over five years now and we have already covered two books!
I hope you are laughing; because that is a truth that doesn’t bother me at all. God has shown us so much and He still has a LOT more to teach us. Let’s continue to travel in His time in His ways and see what else we can discover together.
If you wish to review what we studied in February; just click these links: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/offerings-2/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/is-your-face-glowing-being-like-moses/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/burnt-offerings/
You may have noticed, if you are checking the blog for new articles every day that we posted a few extra review lessons from our Genesis and Exodus studies. These topics may be a bit more frequent and totally random as I work on compiling the summary books for Genesis and Exodus. I hope to make those available to each of you in the future.
Pray that I get more time to edit!
SEASONS: February was so full of seasonal activities. We tried to give you the Christian perspective on each regular and post-Mosaic holiday that happened.
First on the agenda was President’s Day. If you wish to review our thoughts on this special day; just click here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/presidents-day/.
After that holiday we considered Valentine’s Day. Most people consider Valentine’s Day to be a secular holiday; but there are religious elements all through the real reason for celebrating. If this doesn’t make sense to you just read out February article on Valentine’s Day here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/loving-valentines-day/. If you missed it; this article might surprise you.
February also held the religious holy days of Lent and Ash Wednesday. Different groups have different opinions on these seasons. Click here to get the perspective of The IN SEASON Lifestyle: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/lent-and-how-to-observe/.
At the very end of February we came to the more Hebraic celebration of Purim. Here is what we had to say about that particular post-Mosaic holiday: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/christian-purim-celebrations/ https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/how-to-celebrate-purim/.
I hope you found each of these articles interesting and thought provoking. Our desire is to help you sort out scriptural thoughts from worldly thoughts and to help you to celebrate all of God’s seasons in this life with joy and anticipation.
PEN ART: So many of the seasonal celebrations of February tied in with short stories that we published in the PEN ART section of the blog.
In February we shared a fictional portrayal of Abraham and Isaac: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/isaac-abraham-sacrifice/ and also the fictional story of Esther which ties in with the Purim celebrations of the month: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/esther-and-the-king/ Though we admit that these stories are works of fiction (because they come from the imaginations of the author;) we also want you to know that the writing was based on biblical truth and scripture and the knowledge gained from the ancient sages.
We had hoped to include some love poems and a short story in honor of Valentine’s Day; but those did not get finished. You can expect them to be done by the time our next season rolls around.
PIECES OF THE PUZZLE: This is a column that I do not always chose to write every month without fail. The subjects are deeper and more controversial and require a good bit of research and prayer. February brought a subject that we deemed worthy of the title of the column; something that we can use to help in putting together the puzzle pieces of our lives in this secular world where we live that will tie into God’s will for our lives and the lives of those that we love. The article was an opinion about the necessity of homeschooling in a Christian family. More school shootings in the month of February just underlined the urgency of this concept. You may read it or review it here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/homeschooling-my-greatest-regret-not-doing-it/
THE HOUSE DOCTOR: THE HOUSE DOCTOR had so much fun during the month of February creating a “February House.” If you missed the article; you may review it here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/february-home/.
PRODUCTS: Tying right in with the February House in THE HOUSE DOCTOR section of the blog; we presented The IN SEASON Family Tree for February. It was a beautiful tree full of bright red Cardinals; February’s favorite bird. We are hoping to add a little short story to this featured product collection soon and by next February will also have a few new articles that speak of the Cardinal species of birds. I think we can all agree that our Creator knew just exactly what we needed to cheer us up on these cold February days when He created the beautiful Cardinals to keep us company during the coldest part of winter. https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/valentines-and-cardinals/.
OH THE PLACES WE SHOULD GO: Toward the end of February this world lost one of it’s most beloved preachers; an amazing man named Billy Graham. We published a travel article that spoke about this great American leader and evangelist. Our article mostly talked about his beautiful hometown of Montreat, N.C. You may read it here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/billy-grahams-home-town-montreat/. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Graham family as they say a temporary goodbye to their beloved Father and Grandfather. So many of our lives have been touched by the message that he carried so well. His inspiration and influence on all of us left our world a much better place.
Also shared during this month were some more romantic travel destinations for all of those Valentines who wanted romantic get-aways. We shared our experiences from the little mountain towns of Blowing Rock, N.C. (https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/blowing-rock-north-carolina-fun-place-winter/) and Gorham’s Bluff which is located in Pisgah, Alabama. (https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/weekend-get-away-gorhams-bluff/.)
We hope all of your February travels were fun and exciting! The IN SEASON Lifestyle would love to hear any more stories from all of our readers other romantic travel destinations.
MONDAY MENUS: Monday Menu articles for February were very sweet and full of ideas for you to prepare a romantic dinner for your Valentine. You may review those recipes here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/cooking-together-for-valentines-day/
We also added some food for thought along with some ideas for baking cookies with your children and grandchildren during the time of Purim. We came up with a new recipe for Hamantaschens which you might enjoy. Check it out here: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/hamentaschen/.
We had wanted to share some special soup recipes in February; but time became too short to get them published. Maybe we can work on these during March while a few of those cold winds are still blowing across the land. Anyway; the Matzoh of Unleavened Bread days would go well with soup! Stay tuned to what we come up with – I’ll give you three guesses. Also; there will be other flavors too. I have seen a few southern snow storms in March before; so it would not be totally out of character to be thinking of a few soup days before we dig into those fresh green salads of spring.
AN APPLE A DAY: In February AN APPLE A DAY tackled how we could get rid of things in our lives that clutter up our time. We discussed the fact that an organized life is always a healthier lifestyle. Following that pattern we began to consider ways to declutter our homes. We went right to work on that task in February. Here is the first article in a series of articles to come: https://theinseasonlifestyle.com/decluttering/. This process will carry over into March. Some of us have more than two months of decluttering to do! If you missed the first article you still have time to catch up and join in with us on this mission. Keep watching the blog articles with the heading of AN APPLE A DAY – 365 DAYS TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE.
February was definitely full of blessings!
March looks to be headed in the same direction.
Let’s enjoy every minute and give our Great God the praise and the glory for such an abundant life and for the gift of the days and seasons we have been given to live for Him.
Thanks so much for being such good and faithful readers of The IN SEASON Lifestyle.
Each and every one of you are deeply appreciated.
Here at The IN SEASON Lifestyle we desire to be as helpful, interesting and fun as possible during this time that we are all traveling through the seasons of life together. Our constant focus and quest are in fulfilling The IN SEASON lifestyle which is spelled out for us in 2 Timothy 4:2.
Let’s keep living IN SEASON by following God’s ways!
Blessings!
