When we write under The House Doctor Topics we hope to provide a Christmas style for everyone. Not all of us think alike. From year-to-year our favorite trends are different.

Do you enjoy decorating for the Christmas season?

It occurs to us that it might be fun to review the styles of the past ten years. We didn’t have to go too far to find our research. The House Doctor topics had about ten year’s worth of Christmas and seasonal ideas already posted.

It also occurred to us that we have been posting articles about decorating our homes for Christmas for almost the same amount of time that we have been writing all of those “glorious impossibles” to share with our readers. (BTW – Have you found your glorious impossibles for this year yet? SO MANY YEARS OF GLORIOUS IMPOSSIBLES)

That explains why The House Doctor topics could contain approximately ten Christmas decorating themes in ten different seasonal articles.

THE DECOR HIGHLIGHTS THE JOY

Decorating our homes just highlights our joyful mood for this season. It is fun to share our ideas from The House Doctor column which has always been more purposed around turning a “house” into a “home” than perfect décor. We aren’t professional decorators; but we are sincere homemakers.

Over each of the last ten years our posts have displayed their own special themed messages. Every year our ideas were totally different. Some turned out modern. Others were classic and traditional. Many were just fun and festive.

We thought it might be a lot of fun to review a summary of the last ten years of those articles for today’s post. Later in the season we want to share our theme for this year. I’ll give you a hint; we have titled it “Peace On Earth” and our color scheme is golden.

In the meantime you can savor some of these past articles. What better way to spark a few new decorating ideas for this new season?

OUR SUMMARY OF CHRISTMAS DECOR

So go ahead and dive in. Just take your pick from the articles displayed below.

Read the articles that you think might inspire you during this season. We are giving you all the choices that you will need in just one place. All you have to do now is to let the ideas simmer into your own brain until you can come up with the style to suit your own home and family for this year.

Here’s to inspirations!

Read on. We hope you have fun creating your own themes afterwards.

Seasonal decorating is so much fun. It really gets you in the mood to celebrate and focus in on the things of NOW instead of being distracted with every day distractions.

Something different and new always lifts up our spirits a bit and keeps us anticipating all that will be happening next.

I encourage you to keep making your house a home.

No matter where you are, be it a tent in the desert or a mansion on the mountain; let the festivities of the season shine through and open your home and hearth to share the simple little pleasures of the season.

Merry Christmas from The House Doctor.
